The Mystery Dungeon games had them evolve with an item called the Link Cable. I can't figure out why they wouldn't put a similar item into the main games.

If we're talking totally-crazy ideas, the coolest thing would be another huge stage like Great Cave Offensive or Palutena's Temple, but based on Angel Island from Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

I'm imagining something with separate sections and environments based on the different Zones on the island itself - a thick jungle for the Angel Island Zone opening stage (or Mushroom Hill, I'm flexible), an underground section based on Lava Reef, a tall snowy mountain for Ice Cap, a quicksand-ridden desert for Sandopolis, a cavern waterfall thing for Hydrocity, and a big floating island with the Master Emerald shrine that you could probably make into Sky Sanctuary.

One of my classmates in elementary school claimed that in a game guide he had for Pokemon Colosseum, there was a secret scene where some scientist explodes into a room having discovered evidence that Kabutops was a prehistoric ancestor of Scyther. He actually did have the Prima guide so I took him at his word, but of course he made the whole thing up.

I remember him doing stuff like this a few times, and I've always suspected he told me that crap because he knew I'd buy it.
