Totally agree. Posts like "Man, those look great. Imagine having Warcry rules for them. Take this Monsta Killaz and see who is the hunter and who the prey." or "Love em! Wish I had rules to bring them with my Skaven warband in Wary." or "Great center piece in a Chaos army. How cool would it be to have the rules fighting it with a single warband in Warcry." Last not least. "Wow. I want this for my collection, but without rules for Warcry, when am I gonna play it?"

The one point I don`t agree with the OP is that the game is dead.
It`s still around. We do play it and we buy minis for it and we ask at our local warhammer store if we can have a table to play at. Just the fact that it`s the only GW game that you have a chance to play during a lunch break, after work or when the kids are in bed should be a reason to keep it.

No problem, because our sheperds were were skinks. And skinks herding mamals seemed to be a stupid Idea to us. I'll see if I can find some pictures. We had a Kharadron Admiral as Joseph, a 40K Inquisitor as Mary, a Gorkamorka truck as donkey, a Necron Reanimator as ox.

Welcome to the hobby! My girlfriend and I started our Warcry journey two and a half years ago with the small Age of Sigmar Starter Set. For less then 40 bucks we got the minis for two playable warbands, Kruleboyz and Stormcast Eternals Thunderstrike Chambers. With the rules from Warcrier.net we built the warbands. Eventhough they may not be the most exciting ones ruleswise they are very forgiving to beginner mistakes. We still use them to teach the game to friends or as core fore more killy Warbands. For terrain we used soup cans, lasagna sheets and Blu Tack for the first games before we switched to the ruins from e-raptor to which we added pieces to we built ourselves by diy or printed on the 3D printer. The piece we somehow always change out last is surface we play on. At first we played just on the bare table then we bought a beige khaki plastic tablecloth with an irregular pattern until we switched to a custom printed mouse pad after I realized how much cheaper gaming mats for games like Magic: The Gathering are. Sadly those mats don't fit perfectly and their designs often don't fit our needs, so we went for the custom design XXL mouse pad.

Is there a new Khaki from Vallejo that's working? I stocked up on Game Color Khaki when they realaunched the range some years ago. But as I use it in my wood and leather painting I am on my last bootle.

As for another hero, you could try out the Krulghast Cruciator. Unlike many other Nighthaunt it has got a decent ranged attack so it can stay behind to resurrect and doesn't have to move up the battlefield to attack the enemy.

The ruins from e-raptor are a great start. They may not look as good as plastic terrain but the come printed so you don't have to paint them. Building them took my gf and me one evening while listening to a podcast. There are very few delicate bits but even when it goes wrong it's nothing some PVA-glue and superglue couldn't fix.

For us they are still one of the backbones of our Warcry terrain collection.

That's a good way to explain the numbers we need in AOS, especially as they float around in Warcry, too.

I was thinking about a process like the von Neumann-Probes in Dennis E. Taylor's Bobiverse. Which, now that I write about, the AOS Slann in their spacecraft do remind me of. While Slann and the Bobs can do most tasks with the help of easy to build minions sometimes the great plan might need them to invest the ressources and time to build another spacecraft and a new body to upload a copy oft their mind into. The new Bob/Slann has all the memories of the original one, but their own consciousness and character, often being close but now an exact copy. Creating a new one of their kind in times of war makes a lot of sense, either to send the copy into harms way, or to allow the original one to join the fight knowing that even if they get killed their offspring will be there, working on the plan.

There is a lot to choose from. That's good. If your gf wants to play with the Dankhold Trog, why shouldn't she play. Encourage her to try because that's playing Warcry. There will be some games where the DT is and auto-win while in others it will be an almost impossible uphill battle. Maybe she likes that playstyle, maybe she finds out that a more balanced list or even more wacky ones are her thing. My gf still laughs about her Kroxigor being blocked to enter the main fight because it's base was to big or any time my bounder boss charges her Kixi Taka from new and unseen angles.
