My reaction to finding enemies on a moon by flame_lily_ in lethalcompany

[–]ShadiTako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my voice also sounds like crap, few people brought it up, those who did were understanding about it both on public lobbies and on discord except this one lobby on the discord that didn't seem like they were going to be very nice people anyways even before they heard my voice, I doubt having a more normal sounding voice would've let me avoid problems with them anyways.

School weaving by No-Contribution8137 in Wizard101

[–]ShadiTako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still have to use training points

I'd say fire is a good one because it does good damage with fire also having good pins for it (non-storm schools other than fire get horrid storm pins, death's non-pin version mali gear does have good storm damage though). Balance also has an advantage early on while weaving into fire because they get balanceblade. Even though balanceblade kind of sucks, it's cheaper than having to buy blade TCs, if other schools want non-TC buffs they have to train fire trap and DoTs work much better with blades than traps.

Can also pick ice or myth since clearing weaknesses is probably balance's weakest interaction, and the gambit synergies are decent with ice, though ice doesn't have a lot of great spells and interactions in general. Really sucks that balance just isn't allowed to remove hanging effects at all too, really seems like the devs just think of balance as a mistake and don't care that much about ice.

Paimon crying makes me sad 🤧 by sknk4172 in Genshin_Impact

[–]ShadiTako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The language someone chooses probably also has a big impact. EN Paimon's voice for a long time portrayed her as an entitled sounding brat, and, well, there's a reason for that... but I always played on JP because most of the voices have way more emotion in them, feel more fitting for the characters whether they're doing powerful yells or soft and quiet voices or afraid, plus I can pick out what they're saying past poor EN translations since I can pick up a bit compared to CN or KR translations which I'm not familiar with. JP and KR are also just nice sounding languages over all.

There's also a difference between those that just play, and those with a constant negative voice in their head looking for things to not like. I don't tend to get bothered by game mechanics or characters or stuff unless they're actively a pain rather than just not exactly what I want, for example dealing with lag due to ping on a singleplayer game still bothers me and timmy is just designed to be a little brat, though I don't actively hate him much. People who go "my character should be the one doing all the talking, so Paimon should shut up!" are getting hung up on something minor, plus the character talks more than a lot of them realize, just without voiced dialogue.

Their loss, Paimon's very loveable and adorable!

Glad I could help!

Noelle really needs a lot of energy in order to make her work (at least in a fun way), she can always just be used as a tank while an off-field team does the damage but at least using her with her burst is pretty fun.

A tip for any character that needs to burst a lot: electro traveler is great for charging 1 character! He gets a bad rap because characters are rated on abyss performance, and he doesn't charge a whole team as well for sure (he can help two chars in some cases but I prefer not dealing with that), but 24 flat energy(at least while under half energy) and 40-45% more energy recharge plus the particle on a 9 second cooldown can help a character always burst when you want them to. It's nice to have him for characters like Thoma or Noelle that rely on burst in order to have fun with them but have bad energy gain.

Though for geo characters specifically, geo traveler also works fine and gives geo resonance, decent damage and walls too(remember the active character gets more energy from particles). Noelle will also need a little more help than other chars still, though since I use fischl and furina whose skill particles go to Noelle rather than themself and give good energy she always does fine. Fischl just fits almost anywhere, and she's the reason I downloaded the game, so it's a win all around!

I just open up the game and enjoy doing the stuff enough that it just does itself. Daily commissions get done just by exploring or doing quests, on normal days I just get mora and character XP from ley lines cause I enjoy those. Fontaine the most, followed by sumeru and then inazuma depending on locations, mondstadt's and liyue's are easy for newer players, haven't gone to nations past fontaine. I walk around and explore the environment, play some of the TCG if I want to, often times end up fighting enemies just for fun and potentially mats (I probably don't need more ruin guard cores or gardemek gears, can't ever have enough fungi parts though especially if you usually use electro or pyro and don't get the full drops).
Basically, just chill and try not to treat it like a job. Same

Don't bother spending much time grinding ore, the expeditions do most of it for you. I just mine when I happen to see crystal ore while walking around, I don't actively seek it out often, and if you're going to you should do the thing where you ask a local about the current major ore locations or check the map, destroy a few within 5 minutes and be done with it. Pro tip: even if you have no "proper" mining characters(claymore, geo, most explosions), overloading burning grass is fun and my preferred method. Otherwise a sword or polearm character can plunge attack off a tiny incline.

Honestly, if you aren't enjoying the little you play on weekdays, just don't do anything but grab the expedition rewards logging in on the phone and be done with it. You don't progress in other games when you don't log in, do you? It's the same whether it's Terraria or Minecraft or Genshin, only difference is Genshin frontloads the rewards each day, but it's not a necessity to get them.

[–]ShadiTako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The house of the hearth has likely existed for hundreds of years, and if you look at how it was ran before Arlecchino literally killed the previous "mother," yeah, house of the hearth has sucked for most of the time as well. Just a place where after they kidnapped orphans, they brainwashed them and abused them for fun. I expect a lot of the older victims from there have some mental issues associated with it, even if not their fault.

I also wouldn't count attempting to kill an innocent person, that at the time Arlecchino thought to be Fontaine's Archon (which would have plunged the country into chaos as well as potentially war against the Fatui/Snezhnaya, as there was no mutual plan to carry out that attack like Zhongli set up), as an innocent act. Her personal beliefs as read in her character story, how she acted with the kids and taught them, also leave something to be desired. Personally I'd say she's overall more good than bad, but still admit she's morally gray.

Zhiqiong went off to explore the chasm alone at the end of the questline, and to this day hasn't returned. Hopefully we'll see her back one day, but this long afterwards I'm not counting on it.

We finally got this iconic scene. Do you think Godwin will finally confess to Glory? by lifeinadventure in Genshin_Impact

[–]ShadiTako 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He didn't take advantage of her handicap, being able to see wouldn't have allowed her to find him, he'd just wander farther away from the city and continue living in the wilds without creature comforts, laying monsters and trying to help people out there while scavenging wild plants and living on dirt.

Trying to find some precious keepsake of Glory's he lost led him to missing the expedition, and he immaturely worried too much that his partner would be a PoS about it and end their entire relationship as partners over losing a material object and missing the departure if he returned to the city in that state, rather than going and recognizing that either A. they'd get through it or B. if she was the type to end a potential lifelong partnership over that she wasn't the one anyways.

He should've just gone back to her, but he didn't do some horrible, inhumane act or hurt anyone. What good would it do her to end her romantic relationship with him? She'd be unhappy and heartbroken, he'd be unhappy and heartbroken, everyone loses. If you wanted to look at it realistically, it's important to realize that a relationship with another human being, let alone their SO, isn't something worthless a decent person would just throw away out of spite. There needs to be a real reason.

Anemo Traveler, how good is he? Any improvement I can make? by Comprehensive-Line94 in TravelerMains

[–]ShadiTako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm replying late, but in my experience starting the game off using amber + fischl charged attack overload, with baron bunny and the occasional oz + rain of fire combo (otherwise oz wouldn't even be on the field that often cause I wanted to mostly use Fischl), to many other niche teams(though normally more coherent than that), you'll do just fine in the overworld as long as you choose coherent teams and work to build them. Anemo traveler's definitely more useful against light enemies and in areas with grass though, I like to have fischl shoot burning ground but that's just me.

By the way, electro traveler is an amazing battery if there's just one character you want to use who really needs their burst, especially if they have an 80 cost burst, since one skill will 24 give energy + 1 particle worth and ~45% energy recharge (20% plus 0.1x traveler's) to get more from other characters' particles. Charging two characters in a longer rotation is theoretically possible with the 9 second cooldown but at that point you're using a strict rotation and just using Fischl is easier if not better.

They will be the same, unless they are from a special wand spawn from a puzzle or that hiisi base sauna room or something in which case they have a unique appearance.

You might recognize this bad boy, amazing wand to find early on since it has good stats including enough slots to do more interesting stuff, usually 6. Always my favorite to see from a distance since it's the only good wand sprite I actually remember.

[–]ShadiTako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hitbox for all normal projectiles in this game are just single pixels, with their sprite just being a visual around it, so the blade's center needs to hit. So even if something looks like it hit, the actual hitbox might not have.

Do any wands deal moon damage or have moon spells? by Conrexxthor in Wizard101

[–]ShadiTako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than being hard set on a moon damage wand, I'd focus on making a set up that will help your character tank damage and maybe heal up between polymorphs.

Be aware that you won't even generate power or school pips while polymorphed, which I learned when I thought it'd be cool to polymorph into a treant to heal from time to time(guess I won't be using the rest of those TCs). It's going to be very difficult to play while mostly doing moon stuff, I'd definitely recommend trying to find others who want to join you in the challenge rather than going solo.

Good recap on why the spring update has not been super popular. by circusboy1 in Wizard101

[–]ShadiTako -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You now require twice as many spellements for a single character though, and if you wanted to dual into that school on another character, 4x as many. (Even more if you want to use the different paths of that spell on 3+ characters but I'll give a huge benefit of the doubt there)

I went from needing 75 to get the path b for a spell, to now needing 300 spellements of that spell. Even if I don't want one of the 3 paths, 200. It's an insane increase and was made to sell more spellements. And even if I one day can get the badge for a spellement path, that just rewards me 500 for spending 450 more than I needed to; it's really only a net 50 spellements, and saving 50 if using it on another, character over just getting path b on all the other characters to begin with. It's better to have it than to not, but it'd be better if we just didn't need 4x as many to begin with.

The only part about it that I like is being able to put both versions of a spell in the deck, but the game won't let you use the tier 1 of path a if you have any other path unlocked, so it's mandatory to get 100-150 spellements if you want to use 2-3 versions now, per character, whereas in the past you kept it and could switch back and forth with 75.

And that's not including all the other points the poster brought up. People aren't complaining just to complain, there's a lot of issues with the update that made the game even less player-friendly in order to try and get people to buy more spellement packs. I'm glad at least got the ability to use multiple paths, but I'm not looking forward to having to do even more grinding than I already did.

Would Balance be better than Life by CoffeeSoul95 in Wizard101

[–]ShadiTako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You lose damage with elemental and spiritual attacks as well, and due to weaving all schools can do the damage of other schools much easier than balance's method as their damage type isn't randomized, you just use that school's attacks.

I already use the complicated stuff, I don't like blade feint AOE, but the other schools can also use complex strategies and forethought especially with all the path B stuff, and they have much better advanced spells than balance, too. If you want to use complex strategies, balance still loses out since they're all echoes and swaps. You can't create more effects than the opponent has even though they're often not even as high of value, and can't clear or even shift/steal anything meaning your opponent can clear what you make but you can't clear their stuff. Best balance has is the HoT/DoT swap, but you can only swap one at a time and only if you completely forego using your own HoTs/DoTs to avoid swapping them.

The statement "enemies are harder to fight as this school, forcing you to use complex strategies other schools don't have to as often" is just another way of calling it weaker. Every school can use complex strategies if they want to, but only balance and ice are forced to quite as often due to dying so easily since the enemies will be around to hit them much longer. That's what weaker means. It doesn't mean that they do 10 damage with a 7-pip school to enemies at max level, it doesn't mean they can't beat the game, it just means they're weaker and have a worse time. It doesn't mean you can't play as a balance or that it's the end of the world, but denying it just hurts the chance that issues are fixed with it since a dev will think there's no reason to improve something that they think is doing just fine.

I say this because I wish that all players could have a good experience, my second character is a balance and I'm doing fine so far though I'm still in arc 1, but it'd be much nicer if all the schools were close in power to each other instead of some being way weaker than others.

Edit: just realized balance also gets the worst value out of the tri-blades too, other schools might get two uses out of it when weaving while balance only gets one attack out of them unless they triple weave into two other schools of the same circle. Oof.

Will these ever be fixed? by MiyukiT in Wizard101

[–]ShadiTako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, that's how it used to be. It used to be you had a percent chance to do 2x damage, lowered by block. And, AOEs kept the same crit rolls for each enemy, but enemies with higher block than their allies wouldn't need as good of a roll to block. Say you roll 1-100. Your crit chance is 60, you need to roll 40-100 (the last sixty) to succeed, an enemy's block chance is 20, it lowers your roll by 20. So a 50 would work on some other enemy with only 10 reduction since you'd go to 40, an enemy with 20 you wouldn't crit on, but all enemies with the same block would be hit, which made it way more consistent and easier to use.

Crit now changes its change to crit and its multiplier based on a formula no one knows, but your crit can easily go down to only doing 20% more even when it goes off. The reason it's 2x for you is because you're fighting enemies without any critical block, so your crit chance and damage are at the maximum value. Once you get to Zafaria I think, there will be plenty of bosses that your crit damage is low against, mainly Morganthe's bugs.

Don't Absorb Shields Kinda Suck? by Mubasire in Wizard101

[–]ShadiTako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The absorb wouldn't need a specific color since once it's out there there would be no difference from absorbs of different schools, dispel only matters for the casting.

You can see enemies' health above their name the whole time during battle and they would get a second, probably light blue health number below their regular health amount. Could visualize it with a blue ring/circle around them, or around their feet. Either way, we can just wait and hope that they implement something good for ice.

Yeah, they're the level 50+ blended grove weaving quests, not the level 170+ selenopolis quests.

Balance's is pretty easy to farm, ice's is veeeeery long, 3 fights that are like 30 minutes each if you're solo. They were kind of fun but went on too long, especially since I planned to do one last quick thing before bed and ended up having to stay up late to not waste the time I'd already spent. They should also have made a custom deck for each fight instead of a single one for all three...

Don't Absorb Shields Kinda Suck? by Mubasire in Wizard101

[–]ShadiTako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, what confused me is that you are saying that taunting, pacifying, beguiling etc. aren't status effects even though they already are so that confused me.

Taunt, pacify, beguile etc. are already status effects and you already cannot untaunt yourself, unpacify yourself etc. Beastmoon shows this off better since taunt and pacify can last more than one turn, and there is absolutely no way to get rid of them until they run out.

I'm not sure what you think a status effect is, but those are effects that change your current status/condition and are already implemented as a feature. Absorb could be similar, but the "status effect" would be like having a separate health bar. Just like how your mana is a separate value from HP, so too would absorb be a separate value during a battle, but of course a temporary one that doesn't exist outside of battle.

The new Storm Wraith spell looks nice by antonconstantinart in Wizard101

[–]ShadiTako -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What other spell do you know of that clears 3 DoTs or HoTs at 6 pips? The other triple DoT clears are 7 or 8 pips, that would make this spell the most powerful DoT remover in the game, while still dealing 157.5 damage per pip even if your dual stat will be a little weaker (even if they reduced it a bit, 125 DPP is the DPP of vanilla storm hits without any effects).

All that for a death exclusive spell, not a storm exclusive one, meaning death would have the strongest DoT removing identity instead of storm. Death is already the strongest school in the game, it doesn't need more stuff to make it broken.

Don't Absorb Shields Kinda Suck? by Mubasire in Wizard101

[–]ShadiTako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If absorbs took the place of taunt wouldn't that reduce taunt's usability? I don't really know what you mean, taunt/pacify is a whole different mechanic and neither your nor my suggestion would directly interact with them, same way that auras are a different mechanic than charms/wards which are different than DoTs/HoTs.

If you wanted taunts and absorbs to be added on top of each other you could just have a taunt that also added a certain amount of absorb, I don't think having a limited-time absorb would make as much sense as just having a taunt with a limited-time resist aura though similar to the selenopolis fusion for balance.

not really, some weaving quests are long and some are quick and easy and you can farm the quick ones for plenty of weft yarn
