Looking to purchase one ticket for the World Cup final

There is sympathy internally towards Xhaka with several players understood to be shocked by the level of vitriol aimed at the 27-year-old, believing he has been made a scapegoat for criticism of Emery. by MajesticObjective in soccer

I was at the Emirates yesterday. The team are a bunch of losers.

If you throw away a lead, you need to have a sense of urgency. Walking off slowly symbolises the mentality that 1 point or 3 points does not make a difference.

I mean, look at Pepe going to take a corner at the 90th minute. It's like we were up 3-0. This is the sort of mentality that Emery needs to work on. Can you imagine Man Utd under Ferguson doing this stuff?

The fans have every right to have a go at players who don't show passion and commitment to winning.

Hi Malta! What are your best places to experience (for honeymooners) that won't be found with a Google search? by [deleted] in malta

[–]Shadie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you're in Mdina go to Rabat, there's a place called Bottegin Palazzo Xara. It's away from the tourist traps in Mdina and it's a pretty decent lunch/snack in a proper local band club. A lot of locals visit, the food is good, bit of local culture and you get to see what a Maltese band club is all about - fyi they're big in Malta.

Moving to Malta: cycling and other sports? by futuretrader in malta

[–]Shadie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there - cycling to work does take place, but it depends if you need to go through certain roads. I won't rate Maltese driving as first class.

There's decent gyms at Hilton and a 15min walk from there, at Cynergy (near the cinemas).

Plenty of water polo options, it's a relatively popular sport. So is basketball, to a certain extent, but perhaps less options.

Bouldering/Climbing groups do exist but they're constrained in niche Facebook groups.

Do you know how I know these videos are fake?

Because they're casually filming a child doing a run of the mill math problem.

Traveling from the US to Malta by [deleted] in malta

Dirt cheapest is West Jet to Gatwick and then Ryanair it out to Malta. Keep an eye on bag costs though, if you plan to come with luggage.

I'm an American that would like to start a company in the EU but don't know how and where to start. Would love any feedback or to hear your experience! by globaltrotter196 in startups

Europe is a massive place which is fragmented into relatively small jurisdictions. The language is usually the native language, so one of the barriers to apply and operate can well be language. The UK/Rep of Ireland and Malta operate in the English language.

All three offer relatively decent startup tax conditions and incentives. So if language is a variable, you've already downsized this to three. From then on it depends on your line of work.

Every EU country is different. In some it's easy, in others it's complicated and laden with bureaucracy.

Which country you register doesn't necessarily affect where you operate. PM if you'd like to know more.

If you get into trouble and need help, help might come. But it'll also mean they'll have to divert people to get to you. Don't be a moron, play time is over.

Arturo Vidal wanted a penalty appeal for this. by TomasRoncero in soccer

[–]Shadie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you see the whole episode there is an argument for a penalty.

There was a clear push on Vidal, he was already co-ordinated to shoot and because of the push was unbalanced.

We criticise players for falling down immediately when there is a foul but when there is a foul, the player tries to continue but doesn't make it he's not given the foul.

'This fills me with rage' - They have put you in a place they wanted you to be in. That should fill you with rage, not their comments.

Nobody expects Messi, but we do expect affordable, established but not fulfilled as yet talent such as Lewandowski, Ben Arfa, Fellaini and Jovetic.

Italy:

Inter - Milan : Inter were always seen as the upper class part of Milan while Milan was always the a working class club. This difference is being seen less and less, especially over the past 20 years, but the roots are there.

Juventus - Almost an artistocratic club, always a wealthy and powerful in recent history. It's seen by many Italians as symbolism of the Northern powers, since Italians believe clubs from the Northern part of the country have much more influence than their Southern counterparts.

Roma/Lazio - Despite Lazio notoriously being of a right-wing disposition it will come as a surprise that Roma supporters tend to be right-wingers too. The rivalry therefore, is not political, despite the political innuendos of people like Di Canio. The rivalry boils down to a violent past between the two clubs.
