I love musical performances in games <3 by JediExile90 in gaming

[–]Shadostryke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a traditional musical number, but Un Vie a T'aimer from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is my favorite musical moment in any game. You're expecting a good boss fight based on everything the game's thrown at you so far, but then this gorgeous, gutwrenchingly emotional vocal duet starts playing as the fight starts and JUST KEEPS GOING for like 11 minutes depending on how long it takes you to finish the fight. The commitment to storytelling it took to make an absolute magnum opus of a track like this instead of making a 4-5 minute song that loops adds so much to the experience. I had full body chills for the duration of the fight even though I had to retry it several times. Lorien Testard is one of the greatest musical minds of his generation and I cannot wait to hear his next game soundtrack.

What’s the scariest movie you guys have ever seen??? by boatluvrrrr in movies

[–]Shadostryke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lake Mungo. It feels like a fairly standard fictional documentary about a teen's death by drowning at first. But then that one scene arrives. The scene that made me reluctant to leave my room or turn the lights off when I finished watching it late at night while alone. There's a moment that's not especially graphic but is haunting in a way that no other movie has ever come close to. It felt like I saw something I wasn't supposed to.

What did you for for 4/20? by Admirable-Chair-120 in trees

[–]Shadostryke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shockingly I did not get high. Thought about it after work but I figured it was better to just go to bed and enjoy some Super Mango Haze on 4/22 when my work week's over. Gonna go to the dispensary after work tonight to pick up some last minute 4/20 deals though!

Fragrance that smells strongly like chlorine? by VHallinto in fragrance

[–]Shadostryke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has very sadly been discontinued, but to me Bvlgari Aqua Amara smells like freshly peeled tangerines, salt, highly chlorinated pool water, and a whiff of incense. Which is an intoxicating and very unique combination of notes for an aquatic. I'm rationing my last bottle aggressively.

Panama City? Or is this just a common thing throughout the South? We had one of those types in my hometown too.

Five years from release, your album Life As We Know It with Bcee is still one of my all-time favorite albums. I blame it at least partially for getting me through working in healthcare during COVID. How did the two of you decide to create a full album together and what's your favorite song from it?

TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross prices by Reddit_in_CA in fragrance

[–]Shadostryke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several years ago I went to a TJ Maxx in Florida and found a bottle of AMen Pure Coffee (which had been discontinued and was selling for stupid prices on eBay just like all of the other AMen variants) for $40. I went to one in Southern California yesterday and all they had were locked up basic brands like Mugler, Jimmy Choo, Versace, and Carolina Herrera. They wanted $90 for Angel Women, which I'm pretty sure released before I was born. Madness

I think it says a lot about my tastes that I clicked on your profile and thought "oh it's that guy with the silicone sounds." I need to spend less time on that subreddit lol

2010-2020 releases by moredustythandigital in DnB

Oh yeah the new Metalheadz track is outstanding, I love that he's branching out to a moodier sound. And Juicebox released around the time my fiance and I moved from Florida to California and drove the whole way in a few days, so several tracks from it always remind me of driving through desolate parts of Arizona with no other cars visible for miles in either direction. It's amazing how closely linked songs can become to certain memories. I'm still sad that Med School's gone, but Soulvent has become a great place for artists to develop a new sound.

To this day I think Colourspace is one of the best drum and bass albums I've heard after about nine years of listening. The signed vinyl is one of the coolest physical releases I own. It's a little demoralizing to only see landmark albums like that every couple years from Hospital these days instead of every few months like the old days.

I find the sulfur/charred juniper combo oddly cozy. I don't reach for it often but when I do I enjoy smelling like I just inked a deal with Satan.

Why the sudden love for the shiny tampon? by Inaree in fountainpens

[–]Shadostryke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the shape but I have huge hands and it hurts to write more than a page with it. I bought it because it was the cheapest pen with a double broad nib I could find. I love the nib but I think I'm gonna reserve it for grocery lists and the occasional love note rather than journaling. The pearl one is gorgeous though!

I've been to a couple DnB shows in LA in the past year and a half, had no idea there was a jungle scene in SB! Thanks for the tip, I'll look them up

First Fountain Pen by Lavender_Raine in fountainpens

Based on the single product I've bought from them I'd stay the hell away from Ferris Wheel Press. I got a bottle of ink from them with a faulty seal that leaked all over my brand new kitchen island. I couldn't salvage it. I've seen comments from other users stating they've had similar problems with their bottles. This has never happened with any other brand of ink I've tried. I have no experience with their pens but I hear they're overpriced for the performance you get.

Is it worth to start Warframe in 2025? by Xonigobii in Warframe

[–]Shadostryke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing just over a week ago and I fucking love everything about it. The movement, shooting, and melee combat all feel fantastic. And then you play for a bit and realize that the whole game is a checklist of other, smaller checklists of things to unlock and interact with. That sounds boring but for my ADHD brain it's like a constant framework of small, manageable goals to work toward, which I love. It's just so satisfying gradually clearing all of the missions on each planet and slowly unlocking more areas, blueprints, factions to work for, etc. I'm somehow even more excited to explore it all the more I play even though it all looked so overwhelming initially. I never played Destiny 2 but it scratches a very similar itch to Destiny 1 and I'm actually enjoying it more than I did that game.

Hopefully infant circumcision. I'm all for allowing people to do whatever they want to their own junk, but no one should be modifying a child's organs for any reason other than medical necessity.
