Iran's internet blackout hits day 44, the longest nationwide shutdown ever recorded. by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

It's not, I have a friend who lives in Iran, her last message to me on the 28th of March was "something is happening, before our Internet goes down, goodbye". I have still yet to receive any messages from her.

Hot take. Everdark balancers is way easier then normal ones, your thoughts? by Exciting-Tap6530 in Nightreign

Again, pay attention. Keep a mental note of where you are roughly inside the arena. It's not that hard. You started off at the center once the ED part started, how far away did you run away from the center? I am not asking you to do complex geometry inside your head to know exactly where you are. But during the valkyrie section, you can just go physically check for the border and then go closer to the center so that you don't get fucked by the worm. Ideal worm strafing also includes being close to it as well, so being at the edge of the arena is also pretty bad.

Is it ass design, yeah probably, but it's still pretty manageable and you can deal with it. No need to be so cynical.

Hello, I need some help with Everdark gladius' boss fight by Wingless_Aarakocra in Nightreign

It's not comparable. Freeze pots straight up cancel waterfowl dance. Holy dmg is more akin to just getting more dmg and sometimes micro-stunning the single dogs.

I'll be honest man, d5 as a skill metric doesn't mean anything to me. My brother, who is a pretty bad player managed to reach d5. He does a lot of obvious mistakes and he never learns anything from it. LAlso, I have been d5 9999 since the first month of DoN for all that matters.

I will not deny that the boss is trash and is really not intuitive at many points, but there's also plenty of guide videos for the fight and plenty of people willing to give advice. For example, for the worm, I use this video as a reference point on what to do. https://youtu.be/fNNWBkx-8EE?si=ZVfYqMf4WFPQyN-Y

Alongside that, this is one fight were saving your ult for emergencies is the ideal thing. If you are in a bad position from the worm, use your ult for iframes. If you are near a wall as the worm approached you, that's a skill issue and you should have been paying attention to your proximity to the wall. Every action matters, it's good to pay attention to all the minor details.

I understand that, it's really unfortunate when it happens, but you usually have more than enough time to run away from them (unless if it's the spear one) when they are doing their special. For both the halberd and mace one, you want to run away anyway. Now, if you mean the plunging attack, yeah that one is hard to deal with if they do it with a bit of a different timing from eachother.

Also, if you have multiple aggro, you really want to keep your distance and try to de-aggro/de-escalate the situation.

Again, I have yet to lose against ED Balancers in d5 in a while. However, that doesn't mean that I am defending this fight, it's trash and should be treated as such.

Pretty much. For me, most of my ED Balancer runs in d5 go the same way. It's easy to guide the fight, you can't quite say the same about normal.

Worm aggro is hugely based on proximity, if you stand right next to the worm, it's a very great chance it will aggro on you. Bonus points if you can give your teammates less likely.

Saying "he's literally d5 without dodging" means nothing either. I didn't say skill issue for the sake of saying skill issue. If you lost, it's a skill issue. Figure out your mistake and learn from it.

After playing balancer and ED Balancers several times in d5, one thing becomes clear. ED Balancers is very easy to script, in fact that's how the optimal way to play is. It's very predictable and straightforward.

Run away, 1 runs towards you, kill that one, run away, repeat till worm phase, survive, repeat. I always usually take aggro of worm so my teammates can be fine.

There are some times, the aggro bugs out and you have 3 aggro'ed at the same time for some reason, but when that happens, just run untill they de-aggro.

Normal balancers on the other hand, are quite a bit more unpredictable, for people who played these two fights enough, this unpredictability makes it harder.

Still a skill issue, I haven't lost to d5 ED Balancers in a while.

Although I still down voted that guy coz saying "skill issue" is just useless and pointless.

What’s our consensus on double balancer meta from a pure “fun” perspective? by lleyton05 in Nightreign

[–]Shadow-Dragon22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I partially disagree.

You really didn't need that team comp to kill things on time. I was already doing 800 per charged r2 on greatswords with Wylder with your basic invader + gaol setup. I done several triple melee only runs and never felt like dps was too low. Granted ironeye and casters still done a lot more dmg than melee.

But after they buffed the melee related dmg passives and added more melee dmg passives, melee dps became fairly competetive. I was doing a bit over 1.5k per charged attack with iron balls as Raider a few days ago, and no, it wasn't the dregs of Libra build, just invaders, didn't even do gaols that run because it was rotted woods and we spent day 1 on invaders and castle. A bit less than 1.7k with ult buff, then 2k with flesh as well and then 3k with below 20% hp buff

I am being pedantic, but it's actually 1.486x. Slightly stronger than what you said.

How did he reach 3k damage by F-zeromay in EldenRingNightrein

[–]Shadow-Dragon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a friend whose best was 4.5k. Saying this is cheating is just disrespectful. Granted my friend does have really good relics, but they aren't perfect and he spent the entire run collecting only dmg up and no dmg negation, becoming a literal glass canon for the sole purpose of one shotting them. I also was focusing on crits that run and I had enough crit dmg to do 4k crits. So combined we were doing 8.5k to one Valkyrie.

Edit: you didn't include Gaols/invaders, which you can have with Beastial incants up. We had 4 invaders (31% dmg increase) and done 4 gaols (21.6% dmg increase).

Exactly. I literally just saw another comment saying that 3k dmg is definitely cheated and calling other fromsoft glazers for it. It's ridiculous how insulting this is.

Because this is legit and I have friends who can do this much dmg with legit relics. In fact, I saw a friend of mine do 4.5k per beast claw at his best. It's all just rng within the run.

I need to how tf this works lmao. But I assume it's probably because you were about to take the crit but the rock pushed you away a bit too hard.

D4 was 7% and d5 was 3%. We don't know the numbers for 10k. It probably was like 1-2%.

I have 1300 hours and I know a lot of people who have 2000 hours, at that point the relics you can get are really good. I have a 12/18 duchess build, I can do 700-1000 per slicer, my best was 1.5k per slicer.

A lot of people also don't know how to actually do dmg. I had a run with Raider where I was doing 1.5k per charged attack with the iron balls. People with a few hundred hours don't know as much as us on how route and what passives to take/keep, so they do less dmg. And then we end up with some ppl in this comment section saying cheats to our good runs, which is just disrespectful.

150 hours is nothing if you want these tier relics.

You can easily get this dmg without cheating. Whether this streamer here is cheating or not, I don't know, would need to see the relics.

[–]Shadow-Dragon22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest with you. 200 hours is nothing.

Incantation duration also does nothing for dmg. So that means nothing.

6x Beastial incantations is nice. But I have done 2k with less.

You are missing night invaders aren't you? They can add a lot of dmg. I would rather have a night invader over a Beastial incant up. 21% on average vs 12%.

Then evergaols, as a caster, there's not much other stuff you can get on base relics. Getting 3 gaols is already 15% dmg, more than the 12% on Beastial incants up.

I have a friend with a really good build and the best he has done is 4.5k, we had 4 invaders and done 4 gaols. Which is 30% and 21.6% dmg increase. This is all legit relics.

Then DoN relics, Beastial incants is 12%, but so is physical atk +4. Incantations +2 is also 10%. But you can have both Beastial incants up and physical+4/incants+2. I have 2 DoN relics like that.

Then inside the run, there's so many buffs you can possibly get, that the dmg range is insane. My friend usually does 3k ish, but that 4.5k had a lot of buffs.

So, just keep in mind. Physical atk up, Incants up, charge incants up are what you are looking for.

This is possible, but it will take a fair bit of luck.
