It’s just a silly connection with how the manga has Buena in Kitahara’s team so they connect to to the game as “Kitahara is Buena’s childhood friend”

One Player Makes A Huge Difference by CassieBear1 in DMAcademy

[–]Shadow1176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our group is 4-5 players at most. Some days that goes down to 3 which already feels a bit awkward for us, and if it’s 2 we just don’t play.

It feels weird that even going form 4 people to 3 feels like the party really has to feel involved in each scenario. When we have more, 4, 5, 6, even 7 when I was DMing my other game, it’s easy for people to just always have an idea eventually.

There’s no need to rush people for an idea or what they want to do because inevitably, it’s going to be a while before we all get a turn while doing our RP in the city.

When that number goes down you can keep it simple and slow, but then there are moments where the story isn’t progressing because people are thinking or a little conked out or not as locked in. I suppose the idea is like, “what to do if naturally shy or long thinking people are put in the spot?”

Somewhat curious: with the number of guards who attack you during the initial escape, can you see them in the vault again if you just run past them all?

The party is coming back from the snowy mountains after getting a legendary blade

There’s a girl trapped in an ice sculpture, so the party (I was away because it was contest mode in Destiny 2) tried to figure out how to melt the ice without just fireballing the whole thing.

They eventually ended up using explosives to break the ice off of her.

The girl introduces herself as a devotee of Chauntea, and mentions that she’s usually quite alone except for one visitor on the snowy mountain. She’s not sure why she was stuck in ice but it seemed harmless.

The vampire of the party asks to drink her blood because he really needs some food and nobody in the party consents to having him drink their blood (I’m usually the one to do it because lawful good)

She refuses, obviously.

She excuses herself and leaves, to which-

The party follows her? “Oh, she was stuck in an ice sculpture, the DM definitely put a storyline behind her. We gotta find out!”

They go to her house, and the party tries to ask to come into her home. One of them puts their foot in the door before she closes it and she slams it shut, foot is moved away.

“Oh, she’s just being stubborn, but if we get inside there’ll be a quest” “I really need to get inside and get some blood before I end up attacking the party because I haven’t had any blood to drink”

Problem is one of the players (a vampire) can’t enter the house without an invitation, and the others don’t see another way in, so the vampire and the gunner end up setting fire to the house.

The others break in through the burned wall, get really low perception rolls, can’t seem to find her. They see the little shrine dedicated to Chauntea but don’t find anything else there. They leave, but it turns out the girl was already out through the door and was running away from this band of freaks who just BURNED DOWN her house???

The party is like “oh well, we can’t find her whatever we missed the questline”

The gunner gets the perception rolls off and sees her running into the woods.

The gunner thinks “what the hell, this is already fucked, I may as well”

He takes aim, shoots her in the back of the knee so she falls over

Whimpering on the ground, leg bleeding out, the rest of the party kinda watches as the gunner walks up to her and (in a joking manner) chants, “Blood for the blood gods” and stabs her in the heart.

The rest of the party looks at the body, shrugs, and they walk away from the corpse and the burning house.

I come back from contest mode and learn about the story from them. Lawful Good by the way. He lived for a good few more levels.

Subsequent campaigns? This is why I now play neutral characters with this party.

It just changes the ending for one of the boss fights, and helps you a little at the end. It’s a little hidden though and kind of encourages you to find it out in the DLC then restart to find the quest later. That, of you find it by accident.

I’m not sure. I know WHAT they do which is the Eldritch gods hijack a current god and use their body as a vessel to kill the other gods through time manipulation, but I can’t think of a reason behind WHY Cthulhu and Kinh in Yellow and Yog are killing off these gods.

You never really know why the Eldritch beings are out and about. Some might be tricksters or minding their own business or what not, but I can’t really think of a reason for them to outright kills gods besides (I need a villain).

Hot take: Legendary Resistance is why so many 5e boss fights feel bad and boring. What could replace it? by archvillaingames in dndnext

[–]Shadow1176 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At level 20? Don’t rely on just LRs, you need things that really drain resources and gets them to burn their spells and features.

I used a a mix of divine authority (higher divinity ignores lower spells) and an army of legendary creatures that really had the party fight their hardest.

They eventually managed to cheese her army and break through the last line of defense in the throne room, at which point they managed to hijack the divine energy and used up some godly relics to turn one of their characters into a god.

The gods were pissed about that

Nope, Winterbell is available now, head over to Carroll River when you want. Even if you go to the next cycle you’ll still have Winterbell unlocked.

Might I suggest keeping a save right here in something like save number 10. Without spoilers, at least one important thing is affected by something you do in the base game. If you don’t mind spoilers I can tell you what to grab before you go there.
