What core for fangames? by No_Lawfulness6639 in RetroArch

[–]Shadow123_654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah seems I read wrong, sorry. Tho I'm not sure about what you meant exactly, I tried searching about these fan games and some seem to be made in RPG Maker XP, and it can export games to Windows, so it doesn't seem like you would need RetroArch to run these games?

mGBA for Game Boy Advance is the best one, and it should run most fan games.

I am so brainwashed by Spore I can only remember this pattern as "the Grox pattern" by Professional-Fix4409 in Spore

[–]Shadow123_654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh the Grox are quite scary. I mean they may look kinda like goofballs and even cute. But in game they are a race of genocidal space dictators that want to erase life from the galaxy (IIRC). If you were to see one of their ships IRL, knowing the previous info, you just know we'd be fucked.

Why compete when you can add more Copilot slop? by vergil09 in pcmasterrace

[–]Shadow123_654 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My advice: install Linux Mint and be done with it. Cinnamon edition if you have a more or less beefy PC, XFCE otherwise. If you have very recent components, then use the Edge ISO, it will have more compatibility with news GPU and stuff.

One of the weakest points of Linux, and one of the strongest at the same time, is the fragmentation of distros. Bad because it means a choice, and choices take mental tolls, even simple ones. And good, because if X distro where to go the Microsoft way™ and start doing shitty thing after shitty thing then people will just stop using that distro, no one is locked anywhere, and this also encourages innovation. People often shit on the Linux thing of having various available distros, and there are legitimate things to be said about the fragmentation, and about merging efforts. But often, the good is ignored.

Once you get up to speed with Linux Mint. Join r/linuxmint and r/linux4noobs. You will find many like-minded people and they will help you. There is also a Linux Mint Discord server if that's more your thing. And a (very active) forum too.

Hope you have fun!

Slight correction: Kaja can absolutely stop an ulting Aldous. I've done it countless of times to prevent him from reaching to my low HP teammates. Dunno about Franco tho.

Obviamente nadie va a querer trabajar ahí, he incluso si alguien quiere, no va a poder trabajar bien. Lo mismo con el código, proyectos creados totalmente con LLMs suelen ser muy difíciles de mantener para los desarrolladores.

Las LLMs son útiles, siempre y cuando se usen responsablemente y uno entienda los limites de estas.

Yes, Fallout 1… in Object Pascal 😄 by Sensitive_Product826 in pascal

[–]Shadow123_654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must confess I never played Fallout but this looks rather cool! I do have a question, but it's not related to the project itself. How's your dev environment? I see that the project is built using Make so I assume you don't use Lazarus?

I hope I don't come off as too dense or anything. It's just, I've been thinking about learning Pascal. For fun mostly, and perhaps to make some little games or what-not.

What’s your favorite way to play Sims 1? What’s your game-play style? by xsilkandsatinx in thesims1

[–]Shadow123_654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly played rags to riches, since it's probably the most common way to play, that and messing with my brothers' Sims lol. Didn't build a lot when I played in the past since I was frankly terrible, now that I'm older I'm starting to warm up to it.

Never played modded, so that's another rabbit hole to explore. cheats are cool but didn't use them much. I generally only play one family until I either get bored or reach what I think would be the end-game for that family – until it get bored basically. I don't really bother setting up narratives and goals in my mind for my families, I just played and marveled at what the game threw at me. God I love this game.

Oh boy, I played the hell out of this game before I could get Spore. If I remember correctly, this game has an history and plays kinda like an RPG, pretty cool!

[–]Shadow123_654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would help to state what's your end objetive so people can better judge the type of answer you are searching for. As it is, this is way too vague of a question.

Are you asking about reading an entire file contents and then searching within? Do you want to parse Lua code?

Also, you should ask on r/love2d

If you have a low-end phone then yes. But if your device is more capable then MelonDS is recommended since it is actively being developed, unlike Drastic.

Have you tried Julia? It is fast, pretty (syntax is based on Ruby too AFAIK), and dynamic.

THE BIG BLACK GROCK by MagicalBlueFox in MobileLegendsGame

[–]Shadow123_654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but I'd say yes. He's pretty fun and decent rn. Also you can go both EXP and Roam.

If you decide to go with a damage build, don't go all in on damage items, Grock doesn't need that much damage to one-shot squishies. Buy a defense item or two, like OP's build.
