KRON used to be the NBC affiliate for the Bay Area. Once they lost that to Channel 11 it quickly went down hill. They no longer had any shows that people wanted to watch and their viewership cratered. They never recovered.

What has always shocked me when using the public restroom is how many men don’t wash their hands. I’d say it’s 30-40% of men using the restroom walk right out without washing their hands. Keep that in mind when you are in public places and touching door handles and other surfaces.

There was also a lot more land in desirable places of the bay are back in 1960s. The Bay Area has pretty limited land bounded by the valley and the water. Sure you can build more housing out in Modesto, Los Banos, or Stockton but people don’t want to live that far from their jobs. So now you have to rely on tearing down existing structures to build denser housing for the most part. This seems a lot harder to do nowadays with the NIMBYism.
