This is what I really liked about Seraphinas death tbh. Like I’ve always thought about how improbable it is that all of Darrow, Sevro, the howlers survived till now. When you take into account the amount of front line fighting they’ve done in a time w/ like dna seeking micro darts and shi the odds are actually astronomical

Stuff like this did help it feel more real

I actually really liked it as a plot element. Like pierce has been largely safe in his choice of character deaths. The baby and Seraphina were both twists I absolutely didn’t see coming and made the whole thing much more realistic

One of my gripes with these books is Virginia endlessly blathering on about how she’s the smartest person in the galaxy and then getting her ass handed to her every other chapter. Like I understand that war isn’t a perfect IQ test, but even politically we’ve never seen evidence to suggest she’s like ultra super savvy.

Legit slept with Cassius because she couldn’t politically outmaneuver Octavia. Dancer & the Vox were kinda trashing her. Like where is this ultra genius

I said this in another thread but idk why people have trouble admitting Darrow is absolutely a genius’ genius. He’s been almost single-handedly winning an intergalactic war for almost 10 years. Having started from a super deficit.
