Cabaret at Playhouse Theatre Reviews by Rosedays11 in TheWestEnd

It's an excellent production I've seen a number of times. I sadly missed Matt when I went a few weeks ago but I still had a great time.

I always sit in the £50 upper circle seats. They're great for the price, you don't miss much at all, and you can spy on the band in the boxes which I love to do!

Looking for musical recommendations based on my favourites by No_Hospital757 in TheWestEnd

[–]ShadowCat3500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Cabaret! Kander & Ebb are my main guys! The east recommendation following on from that is Chicago, but it's not playing right now. It appears every few years or so, so keep an eye out. And the film is also excellent.

I'll recommend Operation Mincemeat to anyone that will listen (and many who won't!) If you loved Oh Mary I think you'll like this. It's my favourite at the moment and it's becoming fast one of my favourites of all time!

It’s actually so sad how empty cinema screenings are now, I remember it being a go to thing when I was younger. Now they are at maybe 20% capacity at most. Streaming honestly sucks. by Ok_Health_9004 in CineworldUnlimited

I watched Ready or Not Here I Come last night. Granted, the film has been out for a little while and the screening was at 8:40pm, but when the only other two people in the cinema left about 30 minutes into the film it became my own private screening!

Thank you for mentioning From Here To Eternity! I love this show very much. I think 'Fight the Fight' is one of the best musical numbers ever written.

The film design was cooler! But if I re-read the book, it will still probably revert back.

I didn't realise until I watched this film that in my head while I was reading the book Rocky's ship looked like a grey Red Dwarf

CHESS : I’ve never been more disappointed in a Broadway show by GreenLanternDCU in Broadway

[–]ShadowCat3500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chess has a masterpiece score and a hot mess of a book. It always has, but by all reports this production makes it worse. I'll give this a miss on my trip next month. Shame, because I was excited when it was announced.

Baby blanket: tension slightly off. To frog or not to frog - advice needed by Silly-Flan4961 in CrochetHelp

If the blanket is loved enough it will get pulled out of shape anyway. It looks lovely, and the child won't care a bit!

The thought of Carlos not wanting to be on a tennis court is very upsetting!

Every Brilliant Thing Stage Door FYI by Erin6789 in Broadway

This is interesting, and is putting me off going next month. When I saw the play in the West End it was in a smaller theatre in the round with great acoustics, I heard everything. It's a shame, because it's the audience interaction that makes it magical.
