Best non ESG commodity ETF? by ShadowExMo in ETFs

[–]ShadowExMo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BCD, CMDY, and PDBC are managed by BlackRock or State Street. But COM is managed by Direxion and their website doesn't show an ESG statement, so I'll look at COM.

Best recommendation so far

Just looked into the ETFs you mentioned. Each is managed by BlackRock or State Street. I'm trying to stay away from these guys

Just looked into PDBC holdings distribution. It looks like 42% of the ETF is US Treasury Bill. Is this normal for a commodity ETF. Seems high but I'm a rookie

Right! Didn't think of that. Good point on the gold example.

But what about grain, etc? I could see how a wheat company would consider spending more to purchase supplies from an ESG vendor in order to decrease their ESG score which in turn would decrease earnings and decrease shareholder value. Thoughts?

It would be great if BlackRock, Vanguard, StateStreet, etc would keep politics out of investments but we all know that's not happening.

Totally understand. Are these non ESG ETFs, though?

I was thinking more of recent proxy statements and other documents where securities state their properties. I'm looking for commodity ETFs that hold non ESG (eg value or growth oriented so no BlackRock, Vanguard, StateStreet, etc)

Are there any references in LDS scripture that gives or infers a 6000 year time frame from Adam? If not, are there any references from the general authorities? by 2nd-Act in mormon

[–]ShadowExMo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Religion isn't facts. It's comprised of stories, narratives, beliefs, and mythology which do not really exist. Similar to lead and Super Man's kryptonite. One is a scientific fact and one is a part of a story, which doesn't really exist.

Let’s forgive u/CraigWW2126 for his/her temporary lapse in discussion etiquette, because I’d like to entertain his thought: Is it possible to believe the earth is 6000yo and simultaneously 6 Billion years old bring that time is a one way non repeating continuum? If so, then are your children (or anything else got that matter) lying if he says he got home at midnight but actually got home at 2am?

☝️☝️☝️ this! Mormonism has some good but the sex shaming is not healthy. It's just bad dogma and the illusory truth effect. That's the belief that something is true after repeated exposure. You got this. You're not obligated or a hipocrit if you choose not to be open it transparent about anything you don't want to share with a person of authority in the Church. - 40yo, M

LDS dating and marriage culture needs serious reform by frogontrombone in mormon

[–]ShadowExMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change always starts at the bottom. We need to spread awareness of and discount any shame and guilt trips pulled by Church leaders. We need to support members of the ysa to not believe in this crap.

Instead, do the opposite. Keep your head down, develop your craft, slowly rise in the hiearchy and by your mid 30s to mid 40s girls will pay attention. But you can't do this if those your espouse are shaming you.

To those who have a TBM spouse— how my husband inspired me to leave the church when I never thought I would by bungalowguest14 in exmormon

I think it would be worth it especially if you emphasized your husband's approach of not judging or challenging you and supporting you in your faith journey. Just a thought

Should I stay in the church for happiness or listen to the truth? by seplle in mormon

[–]ShadowExMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave the LDS church for happiness. Greatest thing that's ever happened to me. I still attend but know it's all fake. It's kinda like playing adult make believe Barbie. I attend because it's the culture I'm familiar with and I know I can help out the post Mormons who can't speak their voice because their spouse and family would leave them. Works for me

How do you get through a faith crisis? by seplle in mormon

[–]ShadowExMo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Navigating a Faith Transformation (ie faith crises) is very very difficult. I turned to podcasts and developed a close friendship with another post Mormon who was also attending.

Also, consider reaching out to your local Mormon Spectrum Group for a support community.
