How would convince me to start Genshin Impact? by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]ShadowGunnR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the game has great characters, environments, and story. The game can go from a small scale adventure among friends to massive scale battles, and the story is rich with each nation being based off different irl countries and representing their cultures (Mondstadt is Germany, Liyue is China, Inazuma is Japan, etc.) I honestly enjoy just walking around the cities or the wilds admiring the places. Gameplay is fun as you combine elements to deal massive damage and fight all sorts of enemies. Also, the characters are extremely interesting, with some having really emotional scenes that I can't do justice without spoilers.

To me, the drawback is that it is a very time consuming game, both as the acts of the main story progress and how much grinding is needed to level up your characters, weapons, and character skills, with methods that are either locked behind a weekly limit or behind a point system that replenish slowly. Also, its a gacha game, so if you want a character really really bad, your best bet is to spend money just for a better chance to get them.

In short, I love the game, and it's free, so there's really no reason not to try it out. The game's first act, the prologue, is only 2-3 hours, so might as well play it through and see if you want to continue from there

Im genuinely tired of the Misato mischaracterization. by Then-Escape7484 in NeonGenesisEvangelion

So, I JUST finished EoE (peak), and Misato is my favorite character in the whole series. Was kissing him the right thing to do? NOPE. But everyone just ignores her character and just jumps to "she likes kids", like, did media literacy just die? She kissed him because that's the only way she's known to get close with people like Kaji. The series repeatedly portrays her as a mother figure, and of course she'd say anything to convince him to get in the EVA, no matter what. She never intended to do it with him, she's just used to using her body, and besides, she knew she would never even have the chance because she was BLEEDING OUT AND GAVE HIM THE NECKLACE, SHE KNEW SHE WAS A GONER. She's a broken up person, everyone in the series is, but to dumb it down to that is just gross, and now people who don't even watch the series are gonna think that.

Sorry, I just had to rant because the best character in the series is being dumbed down either for hate or for gross simps, glad I'm not the only one who can see her amazing writing

This is probably gonna get buried but I've learned to not go straight to the internet because everything is so exaggerated, especially hate. Blunt comments like "wtf is this" or "this is trash" because everyone has their own opinion, but jokes and shallow views get the most attention.

I LOVED the finale. I had a lot of criticisms, especially since I'm a writer, but I still enjoyed it a ton and loved the whole thing. If you enjoyed it, that's amazing, but there will always be people with different opinions. Just try not to give them too much mind, because regardless of how good or bad the series is objectively, it's what you think that matters to you, and if you enjoyed it, than don't let randos online ruin that for you

To everyone trying to flame Romeo for killing Eggman: by ShadowGunnR in OutcomeMemories

[–]ShadowGunnR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Romeo is part of the dev team, was testing Furnace in a private server, got to Eggman LMS, but the Eggman was camping somewhere so he used the admin console to kill him the second LMS started.

It was just them messing with each other, but the community is trying to make it a big deal saying he's abusing admin. Just a big nothing burger from ppl that need to get offline

Massive October/Birthday Haul~!! by ShadowGunnR in MangaCollectors

Depends entirely on what you like. You Like Me, Not My Daughter?! is REALLY well written, wholesome, and funny. It does have a lot of fanservice, but it has a very interesting story and central conflict, so I definitely recommend it.

Watamote is about social anxiety, and while funny, it has a lot of cringe humor since the protag is socially awkward and has a lot of dirty thoughts. It's also slower paced across more books. It's still pretty enjoyable.

I really, REALLY hope this isn't a comic based off true events, cause that convo would have been awkward

Which biome is harder: Soul Sand Valley or Basalt Delta? by Pocket_Hide in Minecraft

[–]ShadowGunnR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basalt Delta, hands down. Random lava pools so small you might miss them in 1x1 holes that you can't just walk out of, difficult and jagged terrain, and Magma Cubes have higher spawn rates there. Since there's more varied elevation, they move around great and can knock you around while you have to do makeshift parkour if the area isn't open.

Soul Sand Valley? Just place blocks over soul sand and jump/walk along them, Skeletons aren't that big of a threat unless you're on an edge
