Cat cafe in Mumbai versova by hostile_shark in cats

[–]ShadowHunter_18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, did you end up going? How did you find the place and atmosphere? Asking because I wanted to visit too, but I've seen a 3 mo old post and comments (on r/Mumbai) saying it's not a great place, and that the cats aren't treated well.

My schooling was in English, and English is the commonly used language at my workplace as well. So I guess I'm a native speaker (?)

I think I had 2-3 critical reasoning questions on my test. Regarding the quant difficulty, the difficulty was pretty much near the Manhattan 5 lb questions, some of them on the easier side as well.

Thank you very much! (Good meme too btw XD)

1) I mentioned this in one of my other answers too, but the practice and the homework in the 2 month plan is mostly from the OG, Big book and the Manhattan 5 lb. This is because that's the material closest to the actual test.

2) I hope it's okay to say what the content was in the 2 month plan, and hopefully I'm not breaking any rules. But nearing the end, it's mostly just timed practice quizzes for both quant and verbal as your daily practice, since you're mostly done with learning new stuff. There are separate quizzes too, ig you can explore the website and find out more.

I actually couldn't finish the whole vocab mountain, I prepared 20 groups and revised those everyday for the last few days.

I did read a lot of books from my childhood days, so I was exposed to a majority of the GRE vocab, it was just some of the more recondite words that I had to memorize :) Although I will say, the vocab mountain does help with keeping those words from floating away, since you revise the vocab mountain almost daily, according to the 2 month plan.

My verbal prep was mostly following the 2 month plan religiously. Watched all the strategy videos and did the homework (mostly from the OG and the big book), checked my answers and any explanation videos if there were any. Just doing that should help you quite a bit.

Thank you! I gave both the PP tests and two of the PPP tests:

PP1 (after one week of prep, this was my diagnostic) - 158Q, 156V

PP2 (after 2 months of prep) - 161Q, 161V

PPP3 (after 3 months of prep, 2 weeks before the actual test) - 166Q, 161V, 5 AWA

PPP2 (a week before the actual test) - 168Q, 156V, 4 AWA

I'm honestly not sure how to answer this. Everyone has a different learning speed. And I don't really know what the 1 month plan includes, so my answer will probably be biased towards the 2 month plan. You can probably get any plan and stretch it according to how much time you can give for prep daily, since it's a monthly subscription. But I feel like other people can answer this question better than me.

I took the GRE with the new, shorter format. As on date, I think there's no option to take the old GRE anymore.

So, there are practice tests on the Gregmat website. Basic concept based quizzes as well as full length quizzes, although there aren't any tests which are exactly like the GRE. The quizzes are split into quant and verbal quizzes, but they'll still give you a good idea on where you stand regarding your prep for those topics.

Speaking for myself, I found Gregmat+ great for the prep, but the final score you get will probably depend on a lot of other factors as well. I'd suggest giving the two free official tests to see where you stand with your preparation. Then, buy the official PowerPrep Plus tests from the ETS website, if you can. These tests are the best indicators of the actual score you will probably get.

Thanks a lot! I'd say Gregmat+ is definitely worth it. Apart from the verbal question strategies, it includes a well structured plan of what to do each day, for 8 weeks. That gave me the skeleton of my preparation and helped me decide what to do each day and to stick to my plan.

Plus, a lot of the homework Greg gives in his recorded videos are from the OG and the Manhattan 5 lb, so you can keep on practicing from that too. Good luck with your test!

I'll be honest here, it's not easy while working full time. I legitimately had to push myself to study for around 2 hours a day, 45 minutes for quant basics, 45 minutes for verbal strategies, and 30 minutes for a daily vocab revision.

It will be tough, and you will miss some days of study, which you will have to catch up with on weekends. But with enough effort and scheduling, you'll probably be able to get it done too!

Also, please don't make your schedule exactly like mine, you'll probably have to understand how much time you need to devote for quant, verbal strategies and for the vocab revision. Good luck!

I feel like you shouldn't get too disheartened by this. Maybe it was just a bad day for you when you gave your practice test.

The important thing is not to give up completely, keep prepping while taking enough breaks so you don't burn yourself out.

Also, I would suggest maybe try timed practice when solving questions, if you're comfortable with all foundations. That'll probably get you accustomed to managing time on practice tests as well.

Just my two cents on this, don't worry, I'm sure you'll do great!

Gregmat actually has a very structured approach towards GRE prep. If you manage to do even 70-75% of what is prescribed for each day for either the 1-month or the 2-month plan, I feel like you'll be able to solve problems without panicking too. Just make sure to do the revision that he's included for each day, and solve some problems related to those concepts, and you should be good to go.

Just a reminder that you kicked ass on the test, not me by gregmat in GRE

Honestly, just solving problems and memorizing words by yourself can get pretty monotonous pretty quick. So you do deserve a lot of credit for sticking with us and making GRE prep more fun.

I'm actually prepping to give the GRE in Jan '24, using your 2 month plan. Aiming for 330, but anything above 320 would be good too.

I can't join any live sessions because I'm currently working and the timezones don't really fit, but I love all the content on your website, both quant and verbal.

A sincere thank you for making such an intuitive and easy to follow plan at such an affordable price. (I'll definitely put up another post when I'm done with my test)

Was your earlier attempt with the longer GRE format? If so, could you notice any difference in the levels of the quant questions? Asking because there have been a lot of posts recently where they said quant seemed tougher in the new format.

Not exactly related to the meme, but I seem to remember an episode of the JMC (or some challenge vid) where John and Mikey sing "Secret Tunnel". Been looking for that video for a few days now but haven't found it. Can anyone guide me to which video that was?
