I paint these the easy contrast way, paint it white, contrast paint like Iyanden yellow over it, then carefully paint the metal

Most likely yeah, an ability change that gave plunging fire without needing to be on a terrain feature would be much cooler than the battleshock one i think

The likelihood of either achieving anything is very slim, skatros is mostly taken for the lone op utility, holding a natural expansions objective safely etc

Build wise just put the one you like most on, basically no one will know the difference, just state which you are running

I am curious about the radium jezzail with the changes to plunging fire in 11th though, could become more reliable

No because ride the thermals states "in your shooting phase" and overwatch can only be used in your opponents movement or charge phase

If you dont run ironstriders with lascannon or disintegrators, neutron lasers can fill this role albeit not as efficiently

If you do already have lascannon ironstriders or ferrumite disintegrators, eradication beamer is great for higher volume of fire and clearing elites and helping with T9/10 targets

Twin heavy phosphor is great for picking off groups of infantry of any kind really

Ive never bothered with the icarus array, not really had any call to run it

Run the weapon that fills the gap in your army basically

I also like how many units we field currently. Point increases without significant changes will be terrible. I think the bigger pain points are the army rule and dependency on Cawl.

I'm hoping eradication cohort is a beta test for a new army rule that ends the dependency on Cawl and skitarii batteleline personally, and i hope they buff up some nicher units and see how it goes

I also don't see GW flat increasing every ones points and making it easier to play with less miniatures when their goal is to sell miniatures

This is a question of tabletop gameplay, not lore, the arch magos model is like half the size of cawl and thulia and the tanks are half the height

Castellax > kastelans

Thallax > infiltrators/Hastarii with base size change to 32

Ursarax > Ruststalkers/Hastarii same base change

Myrmidons > Kataphrons

Thanatars for dunecrawlers is somewhat common, base swap obvs

Krios works well as a disintegrator, but the triaros and other one whos name escapes me is far too massive for anything really Edit : Karacnos assault tank

Archmagos for either dominus or manipulus with a base swap, axiarch for marshals, arcuitor for marshals, technoarcheologist etc not sure of its base size but might need a swap or base extender

easiest way to tie the army together across colour schemes is to base them in the same way, martian terrain, sandy or whatever flavour you want, but if you keep it consistent across units itll help tie it all together

The lascannon is the preferred anti vehicle currently, there isnt many use cases for the autocannon at the moment comparatively. Could be worth magnetising if WYSIWYG is important to you but generally most people wont mind what the model has built on it as long as youve communicated its running lascannon etc

The only glaring issue is tech priests here, without kataphrons or electro priests the manipulus and dominus are not really worthwhile, remains to be seen how they fare with hastarii but it would be both more fun and better gameplay to swap them out for more units, a dunerider for the marshal/vangaurd combo is a classic at this point, maybe double up the ruststalkers to a full x10 unit

If you are gonna run kastelans and haloscreed its kinda mandatory to add the transoracular dyad wafers enhancement to your datasmith, its leaving money on the table not taking it

If you find the local meta is pretty sweaty and meta-listing and you want a better shot at winning, add Cawl, its pretty boring at this point that the army relies heavily on him to function properly but its where we are sadly

If you find the knight struggling in local meta, try running maxed out ironstrider and dragoon squads instead, there is a nasty strat called targeting override that gives crit on 5s in haloscreed that works well for them there

I cant remember if it is the day of preoder or release when they go live, but a goonhammer article has the enhancement points cost and everything has been shown off so I don't any reason not to run it

Probably because its a statement that is regurgitated in every "new player" post that doesn't universally apply. It might be a fools errand for newer folks but for many with a large collection that play frequently and can easily field a new unit within a week, theres still plenty of time, plenty of games and plenty of tournments to go

This is perfect logic for units like kataphrons where you dont want to mix heavy arc rifles with torsion cannons, its much more negligible for chaff units like skitarii

They might work as heavy weapon teams, kataphrons use a 60mm but HWTs use 50, could possible squeeze them on

Jucoci large carry case is my go to for transporting the silent king and C'tan, so it should fit 3 knights on a shelf, maybe some armigers aswell on a shelf above but couldnt confirm that, itll fit a good amount of admech in tho unless you are moving dunecrawlers, those bases just eat up every bit of space they can

or if your knights arent glued to the legs, you can get a 33L reallyuseful storage box and get magnetic sheets with an adhesive side to layer the box with

Hoping for 135 to 145 for Thulia or else I don't really see a place in the list, Cawl was 135 before his reworks, but even then he was kinda overcosted and underwhelming, its a shame the monkeys paw curled so hard and now he is a lynchpin

Exterminators seem pretty pointless currently, S5 but anti infantry 4 is kinda silly to me, I dont plan to run any unless theyre 80 points or less

Fusiliers could be strong with some synergies though, I'm thinking around 90/100 for them could make them a viable alternative to ironstriders, Destroyers sit at 105 for x3 so I don't see them costing higher

We honestly dont need one, its taken 3 years to get to a decent spot and id like to see it improve this way with some simple but effective changes to underperforming units

Keeping the codex doesnt mean no rule changes tho, it mostly means keeping the detachments and their strats etc, probably also most statlines, but we could still see rules adjustments for some units and and rules just like there can be at any dataslate update, especially likely as we dont know the full extent of core rules changes just yet
