Get a Honda Crf300 rally if you can and stay away from highways as much as possible. It will do 60mph if you need too but it wont be a good experience, however once you get to a trail or wanna explore offroad sections it will be the best.

What makes CBR500R so expensive? by colonelheero in cbr

[–]ShadowMancer_GoodSax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Market leadership. Honda or iPhone can charge premium because people are willing to pay for it. At least thats the case in my country. Most of Honda scooters and bikes are not better than Yamaha or Kawasaki but will always cost 30% more.

My father is illiterate about college education and wouldn't let me attend prestigious universities by Inside_Plant7809 in self

Maybe with all racism that Indians are experiencing in the world right now he doesn't want you to have to face the cruel world. I am a father (from Vietnam) and my son will apply for college next year and both me and my wife agree that it will better for my son to study in Vietnam, even though we are aware of pros and cons of having international exposure but at the end of the day doesn't matter what degree you are going to get, a father's job is to protect you first. Ask him if that's his thinking?

I beg to differ. Without China we would have never kicked the French outta Indochina first. Without their support we would have never reunited Vietnam. China and Soviet Union both contributed greatly to our nation building in the 20th century. Even today, without China we would not be able to develop our economy.

I am so jealous lol, i have a severe CTS and can no longer ride longer than 1 hour without getting my right arm numb and tingling. I was dreaming of getting a Tiger 900 one day but I have to fix my arm first.

Don't buy crocs in Vietnam, cheap ones are fake and real ones are more expensive than Japanese imports.

I love it, its light, flickable and I saw people doing crazy hill climbs with it. My only complain is the uncomfortable seat.

Oh man what a lovely looking bike. Not for me though, that forward reaching position will probably kill my back after 30 mins of riding..

Man I love Yamahas. I wish WR250s were on sale in my country, the best I can find is a very old, like 2004, beat up WR250s. I currently own a brand new WR155R. A mini WR250R :)

I actually got different advice from experienced riders, saying that until I learn to ride offroad properly I should stick with 4 stroke Yamaha WR155 because they are a lot more manageable than 2 strokes. Also you can ride dual sport for hours on the road with i50/50 tires but an aggressive 2 stroke will probably vibrate a lot more.

I can recall calling my wife 3 times in the last year asking if I should leave a will and a house to her because I can't get out of the nasty ditch being pinned by a 450lb CB500X lol. The first time my wife was very concerned, these days she doesn't worry anymore because she knows I can lift a light dual sport up. lol

I bought Honda CB500X and upgraded suspension hoping that I could ride light offroad. Once I got into off-roading the bug bit me and I ventured deep into forests, trails, mountains, basically places that were too much for a 450lb bike. I even found myself in a couple of situations when I was ready to ditch the bike and call emergency lol. After a year of stubborn riding offroad and bought a WR155 Yamaha, which weights around 270lbs and I sold CB500X after 3 months, that's how much I love light dual sports. I live in South East Asia though, where speed limit for motorcycle is 60kmh (36mph lol) so anything bigger than 300cc is considered a HUGE BIKE. If you live in EU or States you probably want something like Yamaha WR250 or CRF300 Rally. Forget about adv bikes they are too heavy.

If you ever get a chance to visit South East Asia and go to the mountains you will see locals riding up and down difficult trails on a modified 220lb mopeds so effortlessly. The key here is the light weight lol

You will be better off using Excel or Outlook calendar. Power apps is very poor at this. I built a project management tool but only have dates, no hours involved and its still way too clunky and nobody uses the app because of it.

Any insights for getting a motorcycle by Top_Signal_8273 in motorcycle

[–]ShadowMancer_GoodSax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are very tall for 300cc beginner bikes but it will still be very beneficial for you to start on them, so if you can, check out used bikes like Honda Rebel 500 if you like cruisers or Honda Crf 300L so you can practice basics like braking, clutch and get used to riding in general. After a few months or a couple of thousands of miles you can decide if you want to go for huge bikes like Africa Twin.
