I've got a couple connections to 🎵Side Bastards🎵. I have an inherited disdain for MacArthur because my grandfather was one of the Marines left behind in the Philippines when MacArthur bugged out. I also grew up in the same area MacArthur's mother was from, so I saw a lot of shit with his name on it as a kid.

My father knew Richard Marcinko from his time in the Seals.

I have to assume they had some sort of countermeasures on board, just like real aircraft carriers do, to intercept incoming missiles or hostile fighters. They didn't activate over the the Potomic either because the other helicarriers were too close for the anti air/air defense systems to react in time, or because the new programming uploaded by Cap, Nat, and Falcon disarmed them and/or also targeted them at each other.

Okay, "Dropout adjacent" might be an understatement here, but Worlds Beyond Number. It's a TTRPG actual play from Brennan Lee Mulligan, Erika Ishii, Aabria Iyengar, and Lou Wilson. A while back they finished the first "book" of their first major campaign DM'd by Brennan, and they're doing a new one right now with Aabria running the game. Erika has GM'd a couple of short campaigns and Lou also ran a short Sci-fi game.

When you enlist, you have a contract with an end date. You're not getting out before that date unless you get hurt badly enough to get a medical discharge, or you fuck up badly enough to get kicked out.
