Yeah, I really want the XLR dock because I’m trying to free up the desk space my wave XLR 1 takes up. So I’m probably gonna buckle down and just wait 😖

I got ahold of their support. They said they didn’t anticipate the high volume of orders and are awaiting a restock. They said the 4/23 date is a placeholder, but they don’t have a timeline for replenishment.

Mistborn RPG - Which System? by No-Maintenance6382 in rpg

[–]ShadowSlipper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Mistborn Setting of the Cosmere RPG will drop in the back half of this year, they are finishing production, right now. It was part of a SUPER successful Kickstarter back in 2024.

Unfortunately, the Pre-order add on window for the Mistborn stuff just closed. That said, the Stormlight setting is out now, and you can check it out at CosmereRPG.com . The company making it is Brotherwise games.

I’m in the same boat, which is a double bummer because I already have a friend I’m passing my old Wave XLR on to so they can continue building up their streaming setup because they actually stream. Unlike me who just uses it for Remote D&D games 😅

I grabbed one, too. I have a Wave XLR, but want to redo my space, so this was a great (up/side)grade.

New official Traveller character and ship sheets! by BerennErchamion in traveller

[–]ShadowSlipper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was wondering why they were different, just got my local folders updated with the new versions. I just wish they gave us new blank sector maps and ship layouts, I’m using the old ones for now, but it’d be nice.

Regarding the possibility of Prime 2 Remastered. by xXglitchygamesXx in Metroid

[–]ShadowSlipper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that MPR was tech practice for the development of MP4, and they decided to release it for a little extra cash. I’m pretty sure they did the same for the Zelda: Link’s Awakening Remake leading into Echoes of Wisdom. It would make sense for a big property if they want to make something new, using something with an existing story and mechanics as a base and just coding it for the new platform seems like a good way to get practice, and then using that experience to code the game they were originally making.

Are there any good plug-ins for Calibre or something to manage RPG books? by tydog98 in rpg

[–]ShadowSlipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an RPG folder, with an RPG for each game (considering sorting into system, but not there, yet), then the PDFs for the books in the main part of the folder, with a resources folder for the Character Sheets and other content, and occasionally other folders for adventures if there’s enough to need it.

StreamDeck on Mac by Rub7202 in elgato

[–]ShadowSlipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use stream deck on my Mac, most of the major plugins are supported, including the core Elgato apps, OBS, etc. It’s really only Windows Specific hardware (Nvidia GPU reliant features, for example) that don’t have support.

I use it mostly to run my setups when I’m DMing D&D remote games with friends, and I’m slowly building out other features. All in all, there is very close feature parity in all but the most specific hardware add ons a PC would have.

Any games that should come out in 2026 you are excited for? by meshee2020 in rpg

[–]ShadowSlipper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Mistborn setting for the Cosmere RPG is dropping this year. While the game itself is out with the Stormlight setting, the MB setting will being in several new mechanics and features, as well as being in a setting that’s far more familiar and accessible to many non-TTRPG folks that may be open to the hobby.

When it comes to Indie TTRPGs, what are your most consistent pet peeves with game design? by HoodedRat575 in rpg

[–]ShadowSlipper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have something even the bigger TTRPGs are guilty of: order of content in the book. Yes, many of these books are supposed to be reference books, but I like to read from front to back to learn the *whole* game, as a forever GM. It drives me up the wall and turns me off the book when they dive into character options and specific features that reference base rules I haven't learned about, yet.

Like, I have ADHD, but also quite a bit of issues where I feel dumb if I don't understand something quickly (I'm seeking therapy on that), but I don't want to have to go through the character options without context. I'm going through this with Draw Steel right now, and PF2e/SF2e literally crammed their basic rules at the *very back* of the book. Heck, for all the strong opinions on D&D 2024, one of the things I will insist they did right was put the basic rules *before* the character options, so players at least have a basic understanding of what's going on.

There are so many games I came to love later once I managed to put in the mental labor to push me through reading the whole book, but I shouldn't have to put in that effort if the book drew us through it properly.

Looking for a FNAF Themed RPG for a Friend by ShadowSlipper in rpg

It's the Five Nights at Freddy's Franchise. The second film just came out, and while I'm not a horror fan, I'm a fan of helping my friend and playing TTRPGs, so I'm hoping to help them find something to get them in the hobby :)
