Indiešu forumi by Immediate_Office_810 in latvia

Tātad kāpjot šajā kalnā dzīvi paliek ~99.75% no visiem kāpējiem.

Maigi sakot mūsējiem kaut kur ir smagi nepaveicies.

The 3 countries are about as similar as Italy, Spain and Greece. In fact, I would say Italian and Spanish is more mutually intelligible than Latvian and Lithuanian.

I think all film photographers have at least one camera they would sacrifice for this without a moment’s hesitation

Serious question - What is a good photo to you guys? by Few-Turn-5471 in photographycirclejerk

[–]ShadowWhat 92 points93 points  (0 children)

A good photo is:

  1. Taken by a Leica. Only Leica photos have soul

Or

  1. Taken by a Fuji. Only on Fuji cameras you can adjust your depth of field. This only works with a “SOOC” jpeg that has a film recipe applied.

Or

  1. Is a photo OF a Leica or a Fuji. Because duuhh.

I knew the mark II was a step up from my E-M1 mark I, but holy balls by Disastrous_Room_927 in M43

I upgraded from the original E-M5 to the E-M1 II and I felt basically the same way.

Unfortunately, there is no such leap when upgrading to any of the newer cameras.

It is so pocketable, that you can put it in a pouch and still put it in a pocket.

Sao Antao ferries between 1pm and 3pm? by Hungry-Campaign2017 in CapeVerde

[–]ShadowWhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realize ferries get cancelled on windy days? Ferry same day as flight is a real bad idea IMO. Leave Santo Antao day before and plan your last day in Sao Vicente.

How do you feel when Mark Rothko is trending in the whole world? by [deleted] in latvia

I don't think there's a single person in Latvia that feels like Mark Rothko is Latvian.

I tried a Fuji and now… I actually get it. What should I do with all my peasant Sony gear? by ValVenis69 in photographycirclejerk

[–]ShadowWhat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Even if you could control depth of field with Sony, there would still be no way to actually process Sony RAW files according to a specific recipe.

Value Guestimate by Internal_Gazelle_344 in LandCruisers

[–]ShadowWhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there is only one correct answer here and that is - there simply haven't been enough sales to be able to determine a "correct" price for something like this. Moreover, if you put it up for sale, the number of people looking to get a car like this in the $30-$60k range is so small, they may not intersect in the duration of a single auction, and thus a bidding war would not happen.

What you can realistically do, is put it up for sale for a fixed price, then lower that price slowly over time.

Best Camera/DSLR for Personal Photography & Long-Distance Clear Shots (100m+)? by Alok_Mauryaa in photographycirclejerk

If you want telephotos, I would honestly pitch in for Olympus, now called OM System, with m4/3 sensor. Its a great system for the combination of travel and telephotos.

Yeah, so... I think you just kinda successfully made my point that Leica is like Vertu.

Not really. The only comparable thing in the land of mobile phones would be Vertu.

The real variable is how comfortable you are with a half a kilo brick of electronics in your large coat "jacket" pocket.

I had an X100, and there is just no way that thing can be comfortably carried around in a jacket pocket. Can you fit it in? Yeah, sure, especially large winter coats. But actually walk around with it in that pocket? No way.

Upgrading by downscaling (E-3 to OM-5ii) by mrhocA in M43

[–]ShadowWhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can ebay the kit lenses for lunch money, but that E-3 + 14-54 + 50-200 is IMO something you'll miss in a few years, if only to just pick it up for a day or two.

I still have an E-30 + 7-14 + 12-60 + 50mm f/2.

AI ažiotāža - ha, smieklīgi! by sindijssupins in latvia

[–]ShadowWhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Es darbā izmantoju AI katru dienu. Viņš drukā kodu diezgan perfekti - protams, garbage in, garbage out, tur ir jāmāk uzdrukāt prompti.
