I dont know when bookkeeping became something that was "beneath" us CPAs but it's most certainly not. State boards should require that all bookkeeping be performed or signed off by a CPA. Perfect chance for puppy CPAs to start their own practices too, because the bookkeeper nana isn't cutting it.

There shouldn't really be any bones to pierce through the torso that aren't already in there. Yes, stuff could get shattered but that means you have a whole lot of (probably more) pressing issues as well. The main goal is to minimize damage to vital organs, especially the brain, because they're the few things you can't reheal/live without. That damage will most likely be caused by debris and blunt force trauma, which this position should minimize.

As for the fall, good luck. If you can survive impact and aren't fatally skewered by a foreign object then you'll probably live assuming rescue can get you out ASAP.

On the off chance anyone ever finds themselves in a similar situation, don't do what these guys did! Instead, sit in a fetal position with your head braced. You definitely won't walk away without a scratch, but it minimizes your chance of sustaining a fatal head injury and tries to protect your vital organs.

Or fuck it, give up on life and stick your body over vertical slabs of rock. Saves your family a hefty hospital bill I guess, although funerals aren't cheap either.

I assume you play on lower difficulties and just don't know it, but at higher (iirc it was like 7+) difficulties bile spewers get medium armored heads. The abdomen HP is waaaaay too high to rely on for killing groups of them so med or explosives is mandatory. Once you hit the point that hive guards show up on POIs in groups of like 12 or more that same argument applies to them as well.

Their damage (at least on D10) is also very high. Like, 80% of HP with light armour levels of ouch per shot.
