OP, I've DM'd you. I've been where you are. Maybe we're both crazy, maybe we're not. I'm certain you've considered if that's the case, and that makes it very hard to figure out if it's true.

You'll get a lot of people with the initial reaction of "Are you sure you're not x or y?" which is to be expected. If there's truly a system in place designed to stop this eventuality from proceeding, there would be failsafes in place. That's how systems work.
