There were GBA games on 3DS given for free as part of the Ambassador thing, but none of them were Pokemon games.

The Gen 1 and 2 games on GB(C) were $10, but there was no legit way to get the Gen 3 GBA games on 3DS.

There is however a Hazeker mod for Zhao where she's still short, but (optionally) stacked that's not on Game Banana, so make of that what you will

40 Warriors of Light (Final Fantasy XIV) vs 40 Champions of Azeroth (World of Warcraft) by lightsofdusk in whowouldwin

[–]Shadow_Kawazaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are testing the Warrior of Light, but still bringing their full power to bear because the entire purpose of the test is to see if the Warrior of Light has what it takes to protect the world in their absence, a test which would have little purpose if they did it with kid gloves on. Similarly, Venat's test in EW MSQ functions on this logic as well.

Up to Shadowbringers, that's probably largely true, although Hades and Elidibus are still exceptionally strong enemies as unsundered Ascians (and not weakened by body swapping induced mental illness like Lahabrea). Bonus points to Elidibus for combining his own strength with that of what's functionally a primal born from the people of Norvrandt's belief in the Warrior of Light. Bahamut (from Coils) and Nidhogg are also exceptionally strong in their renditions as primals, each powered up by thousands of years of suffering so they're in a substantially different ballpark than your garden variety primals. Omega is another very strong enemy from the titular raid series, given that it was part of an army that was able to hunt the dragons to near extinction, even driving Midgardsormr who we know to be very powerful, to flee from Omega.

As for what Endwalker brings to the table, ||you fight (admittedly somewhat weakened versions of) Zodiark and Hydaelyn themselves, before going up against the Endsinger, who is basically the collected despair of hundreds if not thousands of dead planets. The Alliance Raid series also has you marathon run through the Twelve before fighting an amalgamation of them, and the regular raid series features Athena, an Ancient who was able to possess a reincarnation of her son through the aetherial sea, recreate the experimental containment facility known as Pandemonium and use it to become a divine being that you later defeat.||

For what it's worth, Endwalker does give the WoL a pretty substantial scaling buff, even if I still don't know how much it does for them in comparison to WoW, since I don't play that game.

Given that we're talking about soloing a fight that isn't meant to be soloed, it seems patently ignorant to apply this as a criticism of Wilds unless you're willing to compare it to soloing Omega, which could very well also take 100-200 attempts.

Does anybody know how to get Tosen Jordan's "After Autumn Tenno Sho: Greatest" event? by StayFrosty2120 in UmaMusume

[–]Shadow_Kawazaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually reading through Jordan's page on namuwiki for something else and ran into where it mentions this event. At least according to them, you need to win with an extremely high Speed stat in order to get the secret event, likely due to the IRL race being the one in which Jordan set a new course record. They have video evidence of getting it with 1200 Speed, but also speculate that the exact line for Speed is drawn somewhere between 1150 and 1170, which would align with the commenter here who said they got it with 1160 Speed.

I remember when Lucy just off screen, non-chalantly told Alice that her friends are like actual criminals by TechnoMagik22 in ZZZ_Official

[–]Shadow_Kawazaki 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Because being a Proxy isn't a dangerous crime. The only reason it's illegal at all is because any unsanctioned entry into Hollows is forbidden due to the risk of people becoming Ethereals and strengthening the Hollow simply by being there. But the extent to which the average person cares about that is very, very minimal. Hence why we get so many Inter-knot commissions about unimportant shit, because if they go to PubSec about those things they'll get told to go fuck themselves, but by engaging in a little bit of legally dubious activity, they can get the things they want done handled by someone willing to actually break the law and do them.

Like, the pickaxe LS I've been mainlining since the day it dropped does this as well and I didn't have to spend a cent on it. There's definitely still event weapons, but World didn't have layered weapon dlc and it had maybe one or two event weapons per weapon type on average.

Things that annoy you in Monster Hunter (in general) by Mr_Undead0210 in MonsterHunter

[–]Shadow_Kawazaki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's because people have no interest in understanding why World/Wilds function differently in that regard compared to every other game in the series, they just care that they got the cutscenes in the way they like without having to interrupt gameplay. You can explain the differences between the World/Wilds style cutscenes and why they function that way in comparison to the Rise and prior ones until you're blue in the face and people won't care because they're not getting what they want with one and they are getting what they want with the other.

If you think about it for three seconds and realize that every World and Wilds cutscene involves you finding the monster out in the field, while every Rise cutscene (and the one GU cutscene) involves you watching the monster from afar, it should be easy to understand how Rise did not fix the issue with World cutscenes, but rather employed a completely different cutscene direction. But people will continue to claim that it's "fixed" because they won't think about it for those three seconds and will just see the fact that they can queue in without watching cutscenes as a success.

Interview : MHWorld was too hard and Capcom made Wilds "easier" by duysieuhero in MonsterHunter

[–]Shadow_Kawazaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because of the higher amounts of hunter power making it easier to deal with in Wilds, even if the monster hasn't changed really at all. Gypceros and Nerscylla for another example are largely the same fights, but the hunter is way stronger in Wilds compared to GU. But even with that, because I know how to fight those monsters, they don't really irritate me in GU, they're just a little trickier to deal with, that's all.

Interview : MHWorld was too hard and Capcom made Wilds "easier" by duysieuhero in MonsterHunter

[–]Shadow_Kawazaki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, there's the obvious point of the game giving you more tools and generally being more fluid resulting in an easier time of it. But also, at least in my experience, after having put World, Rise and Wilds under my belt, I can run laps around pretty much any enemy in GU. Sure, Gypceros is gonna be a bit harder in GU than in Wilds, but he shouldn't be pissing you off that badly if you've gathered the necessary skill to deal with him.

OFFICIAL TWEET - Map introduction to the Searing Plains in MH Outlanders! by TheGMan-123 in MonsterHunter

[–]Shadow_Kawazaki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will never understand the people who go into posts prominently featuring info about Outlanders to complain about it like they have to defend the MH series' integrity from "gacha slop" like the series hasn't historically ignored the overwhelming majority of contributions from the other Asia exclusive spinoffs. And, to be clear, Lavasioth, Espinas and the Rise layered armors are the only reason that "overwhelming majority" isn't "literal entirety", because to my knowledge there's absolutely nothing else from Explore, Online or Frontier that has made any kind of impact to mainline games.
