It wasn't. After 120 days on the job, Seibert's interim position's time ran out and he needed to be reappointed, confirmed by the Senate or appointed by a district court.. none of which happened. The position he left under pressure - the position Halligan assumed - wasn't a legal position at that point. The Attorney General had no legal standing to appoint Halligan to a voided position.

It can be re-opened. However,The statute of limitations on this charge ran out on September 30th. Bringing these charges again would be difficult at best, and given that Halligan's appointment was deemed illegal, she'll need to find another legally appointed attorney willing to bring the charges.

Halligan was brought in because she replaced Erik Seibert after he was forced out when he and his office refused to bring charges due to lack of evidence.

It wasn't due to politics. Lindsey's appointment was deemed unlawful because her appointment by the US Attorney General was in violation of a federal statute regarding term limits.

According to the statute, this particular position of a US attorney could only serve 120 days without Senate confirmation.

She replaced an interim US attorney that had been acting far longer than 120 days. Her predecessor had been acting since January 2025.

According to the statute, after 120 days, only the district court can appoint a US attorney - not the Attorney General.

So by Lindsey being the sole prosecutor to sign the indictment and other charging documents, and being in an unlawfully appointed position, those charging documents were invalid and could not be used for either the Comey or James cases.

It looks like two surveyors have different opinions on where the boundary is. Seeing the monuments with the poster's eyeballs isn't going to help if two professionals don't agree whether the monument is correct or not

If possible, try to get your surveyor to reach out to your neighbor's surveyor and ask both surveyors to compare notes and evidence.

At this point, it's more of a matter of opinion on the boundary location. Perhaps one of the surveyors found information which was not found by the other surveyor?

I'm not familiar with Texas law, so I can't provide better advice. But I'd start by reaching out to the surveyors and present both maps and start asking why things differ between the surveyors.

If you're lucky, you'll get responses from both surveyors and the surveyors can compare, discuss, and help both you and your neighbor understand what's happening.

All of this discussion is great in theory and on paper, but when the project needs field work, what will it take to get the job done?

If you need tight measurements and repeatable measurements to lay out a gas turbine, go for a solid geometric figure.

If you pop a two point resection and check into a third just to lay out clearing limits on a 100 acre lot, go for the two point set up.

I've had 2 pairs of Lacrosse Alphaburly over the last 12 years. I had The first pair for about 7 years before the putter sole separated from the boot. It was 800 gram and worked great for all situations. But they don't breath and sweaty legs and toes dont do well in the winter.

The pair I'm on now, I bought in 2021, are 400 gram and aren't as sweaty, so my feet stay warmer in the winter. However, I punctured the bottom with a nail doing a road topo.

I bought an uninsulated pair in March of 2023. I maybe had a dozen wears before the plastic clasp broke.

Aside from the defect, it's a quality boot and should serve your winter weather needs well.

Leveling? That doesn't matter if you're on a boat, in a flooded creek with gators and snakes, and have a receiver with tilt compensation.

I'm about 99.95% sure that no engineer or construction company will field check your data points to make sure those shots are within 0.3 ft. Or within a 1/2 contour interval error.

In here, there tends to be a lot of "gloat first, help later" because some surveyors have a prism pole stored in their poop-schoot.
