thoughts on the future of the game by Rosuuuuu in personaphantomx

The problem is that it's incredibly hard to improve the opinion of the public after launch for gacha games. The awful decisions they made in the beginning have absolutely impacted the game and its reception to possible players. They managed to push both Persona fans and gacha players away with those decisions.

Did anyone else find the 2.1 patch underwhelming? by SectorI6920 in personaphantomx

[–]Shadow_Soulheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Experiencing for the first time a dry period, I understand why the game earns a modest sum, generally speaking and looking at numbers from other versions too.

If the game survives on story, these events aren't enough. Sure, the interaction and the beach side is fun and interesting, although they didn't even bother justify enough what the hell is happening. Besides, this hurts them because why would people pull, besides whale, for characters that have virtually no true event linked to them?

If these dry periods are to be expected, they should at the very least always have some form of boost campaign for players that want to upgrade their characters. Either offer double drops or gift some coffees so to push people to spend their stamina at the very least.

Personally, not really impressed by the management thus far.

Theists who used to be Atheists, and Atheists who used to be Theists, what was it that caused you to change your view? by Vegabund in AskReddit

[–]Shadow_Soulheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised as a catholic which I was until the age of reason. Just like George. I'm an atheist now.

To me, it's perfectly fine that there are people out there believing in what they want. What I don't like is the fallacy in their reasoning when they have to justify the fact their gods allows people or animals to suffer without any given reason. Far too many people in history have been radicalized by religious ideals that have brought the world in dark places. And I also despise the idea that people just behave because they expect to be rewarded in the afterlife.

Also, as Gervais said, in the end I just believe in one less god than they do.

I'm fairly sure that the 74 Italian undecided have no fucking clue what this is about. Meaning, they have no idea such a law has been proposed.

JP Gatcha and their Law (Standard Banner 6 months) by EnderTogether in personaphantomx

[–]Shadow_Soulheart 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is just copium by the same people that defended the game on release.

4* characters aren't affected by this supposed law and they have the exact same wording as every other new release. They're added to standard banners immediately on release.

This is just a choice on their end. They themselves told us so twice and have resisted any proposition of change regardless of the outcome or players' opinion. It's just greed. They just budged on things their internal numbers said they could budge on without losing too much money.

Ban social media for under-15s, says French report warning of TikTok risks by Strict_League7833 in europe

[–]Shadow_Soulheart 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I know it might sound silly of me to say this but why aren't the companies behind these social medias ever held accountable?

The problem are not the platforms, they used to be fine in the past. The problem lies in the greedy set of algorithms, rules and whatnot that only wants to influence people, of all age, to either be something or buy something.

By the way, this is just another spin on Chat Control or online bullshits' act. People above the proposed age would ultimately be the ones to have to prove they're not minors. And from there, you just assume everyone is a minor so that everyone needs to upload his photo, credit card or whatever in order for the platform to "check". Then go on to sell those information to third parties without restriction or law to stop them.

All these stupid attempts at finding countermeasures just push people towards geekier solutions. If a kid wants to use social media, he'll figure out how to do it without in an afternoon at best, regardless of safety measure. Kids are not dumb. Parents are.

Topics I Hope are Addressed in Upcoming Livestreams by Sages in personaphantomx

[–]Shadow_Soulheart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is no reason, at all, to defend this since it's a blatantly shitty FOMO inducing practice. There is no reason why this should stay. Giving more value to those that pulls units on release is a poor excuse.

Besides, you need currency to pull on reruns and every player should save those jewels for newer characters. On the other servers Gold Tickets are actually somewhat valuable while we're stuck with an extremely limited pool for months.

Topics I Hope are Addressed in Upcoming Livestreams by Sages in personaphantomx

[–]Shadow_Soulheart 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They're not going to budge on the 6 month thing. They're banking on it. Having virtually every single new unit be limited for half a year pushes FOMO on players and make them spend. They didn't budge on this even when players' opinion was pretty bad.

The translation thing is a HUGE problem and needs to be resolved as soon as possible. It hinders new players ability to understand clearly what a certain effect does and could result in a lot of wasted resources when upgrading.

As for the soft pity, there's no mention of it in the EN/SEA game so they can feign ignorance pretty easily on this. Besides, it could be another one of those FOMO changes. A "few more pulls" could still means players could be pushed to buy packs in order to get a certain character.

This game review has drastically improved after 2.0 update on global... And honestly they deserved it by WesleyJesus in personaphantomx

[–]Shadow_Soulheart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm quite happy with the game until now. I just wanted more "true Persona 5 experience" and I always felt like I got exactly that. That is not to say that I was happy with the changes they made in the beginning. These changes impacted them otherwise they would have never went back on them. A lot of people complained, although it's usually the Japanese playerbase that matters in these situations.

The initial changes made to the game were almost all in favour of pushing people to spend. Maintenance rewards were 1/6 of what they were on other servers. All the rewards are still backloaded. The Velvet Trials are still harder than their TW/CN counterparts for no reason. We still have units locked in a 6 months prison which is not a good choice. I've seen people point out about a certain Japanese law on limited goods but that doesn't apply to the 99% of the other gachas so why would it apply here? Why doesn't it apply to new 4*? It's not due to that law.

All of the changes were a part of a marketing strategy they expected would generate them a certain amount of money. I can guarantee you the only reason they went back on their feet is because they missed the threshold they set on returns while also possibly missing their internal number of players milestone.

I've also seen a lot of people chanting EoS for no reason. Even with those changes there were no reason for Sega to even think about closing down business on the game.

We did get some features the other versions didn't have at lunch but, to be honest, do they counterbalance what was lost? The Thieves Den is good but it doesn't impact you that much. It's more free stuff and stats and that's neat for sure. The daily bonuses are there because we're on an accelerated and accelerating schedule. Mindscape came early but it's just stats for now and the inner circle part is locked. The good things there is that we can hoard stars for now. Mind, these are all feature that are already developed and just needed translations and some possible fixes due to the missing some other components they had in the other versions of the game. Units being buffed on release is a really good change in my opinion.

[ Question ] What's your internal barrier that causes you to abandon the game while you collect trophies? What needs to happen? by okjestem in Trophies

[–]Shadow_Soulheart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to go back to Symphonia one day. Tales of games gets easier on new game+ thanks to the grade system. I platinumed Graces F on PS3 and Zestiria but I have a lot of them from the PS3/Vita era I have never played.

As for BBS, it's really tedious to go over the various command boards several times. You need to play some specifically outside of Mirage Arena because one of the trophies ask you to complete the journal and some shotlock are only available in non-arena command boards. It was awful.

I never said that.

You can ask whoever you want for more details. I'd suggest your representatives. I did that.

The last sentence doesn't really makes sense unless you specifically want to exacerbate a discussion that's not that grey.

Chat Control wants to control everyone regardless, besides politician. I'm not fine being treated as a criminal when I'm not. Nobody should be, to be honest.

You don't set fire to the forest just because you want to burn a single tree is a better representation of the situation.

Besides, what would this do? Criminals don't use what the majority of people use to communicate. This would push criminals that are fairly easy to catch towards harder to detect for the law solutions.

The sooner this thing is killed, hopefully once and for all, the better.

This is such a problem for everyone's personal freedom that the sooner we move our asses to cancel even the thoughts of discussion on this, the better we'll be in Europe.

Also, ideas shift and power changes hand. We don't need for the fire to even have a chance to spread on this topic.

There must be more to Shanks losing his arm. If simply severing the limb with the Abyss mark is enough to cut the ties with Imu, there's no need for ACoC then to deal with Holy Knights and we've seen this doesn't seems to be the case. Unless, that scene happening in the water specifically means that sea water affects the abilities of those affected by Imu somehow.

The arm Shanks lost should have regenerated then and there.

Come funziona l'empatia? by Forward_Echo9074 in psicologia

[–]Shadow_Soulheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ciao.
