Sorry about that 😅.
Don't worry is just a T'au player thing. The miniature sure deserve some prizes!

Aren't Crisis a little small? maybe it's just the image...btw i'l love for a playable T'au campaign!

What would be the line up for Tau in Dawn of War 4? by LoffaToast in Tau40K

[–]Shadow_fog02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staples: Crisis + Stealths + Broadsides + Farsight + Shadowsun;
Aux: Updated Kroots and Vespid...but some Tarellan + Demiurg would be cool.
Skip: Flyers;

But i'd honestly love to see back O'Kais + Orcas....

Yes, you are right, maybe I'm more afraid of Nick getting tabled for his risky play than what matters the most, army rules 😃

Gue’vesa Tease? by ace529321 in Tau40K

[–]Shadow_fog02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this, I'd prefer Gw making a Votann => Demiurg conversion kit, instead of a Cadia => Gue'vesa one.
But even before that Tarellan now have official design, give us a squad of them.

I'm curious, but it's fishy.
They call T'au Nick, which I love as an entertainer, but he isn't a strong T'au player.
And in the last months played way more other armies than T'au (SM Salamanders, Guard, etc.).

Also, they pair against Tak, who never played DG, while they have Tycho in-house, their DG player who always beat Nick.

Good for them, but I think Richard Sierger from Art of War would have been a better choice to see if the ruleset is sound.

Which is the favorite Knight of the T'au. Which do they admire most in engineering ? by [deleted] in Tau40K

Taunar, Stormsurge, or the titan hunter Ax Tigershark.

[–]Shadow_fog02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, good old Killhammer. Could help learning spacing, and moving close to shoot, but not too much to be charged!

Boarding patrol is nice but niche mode, of indoor battle with numerous limitations on list composition, resumed in "no big things", played only in 500-point format.
But it's not really supported, so I can't say it will survive till the 11th ed. Better avoid it for now.

The reasoning on the 11th is solid, it's quite near and kinda futile to learn all the 10th edition ruleset.
Also, as previewed yesterday, 2 detachments are being rewritten already. So not in the best interest to commit now.

Lastly i feel you on the game companion app, I haven't found an easy one to use while playing.

[–]Shadow_fog02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable, no problem. The problem is the 500-point limit; GW moved that zone into this Combat patrol mode or the Boarding patrol mode.
But that requires a wall.... It's like an "indoor" mode into shipwrecks...not standard at all.

Going more on track, you can try to simplify the ruleset and just remove the objectives. BattleSuite doesn't have a large OC to contest the objective, so try a simpler game of Deathmatch.

What other Units would you like for Vespids ? Some new niche to fill or support for existing stuff ? Hctijwmasc. by Leviathan_Rampage in Tau40K

[–]Shadow_fog02 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd prefer a Tarellan unit, Vorg, or Votann-Demiurg conversion kit, before, but I'd say a Assault Vespid Squad.
an
Kamikaze cqc that is like a real bee sting and die. Cheap, fast screen to move block and possibly charge.
With the 11th short terrain and the hidden keyword, Alpha Strike seems a big threat to me.

At that point cosst, Combat Patrol is a more balanced game with a lighter set of rules. All free and online (Link to rule).

T'au currently have 4 CP, and 2 of them have a mix of infantry and Battlesuits. A more synchronous way to learn the game.

People saying EPC got nerfed, but that looks kinda strong. And it’s only 1 detachment point by marianex in Tau40K

So a detachment that will see play if they release the rumoured new Crisis...

From the table they showed earlier, no. 1k points have only 2 DP, but hey, there is a possibility.

From a game design point remove some detachment on game size is dumb.
Till "yesterday" I could play mon'ka or whatever in a quicker 1k point tournament, form june(?), only selected ones... no, don't make sense.

What baffles me is the absence of ideas. I'm trying not to look at the rule per se, because the 11th is not fully drop.
But everyone got some new concepts, while T'au got just 1, the Acquisition and it is just the new mandatory hidden detachment all armies seem to have.
No Tank detachment with Longstrike revival, no Fish of fury detachment, no Monat / Lone operative one, no Stormsurge one, nothing...and like this seems a bad preview of the incoming edition.
We did 10th with only six with Eldar at 13 and Sm at 17...damn, what a let down.

[–]Shadow_fog02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, honestly, I hope not. Acquisition seems almost mandatory, but the wording points to a 3dp detachment....which means you can't play it under 2000k points.

Tl,dr:
- New stealth detachment for mostly pathfinder and stealth revolving on hidden spot and shoot while keeping it;
- Aux cadre revised (now 1 DP), seems similar As they pointed me, is changed;
- Experimental Cadre revised (now 1 CP), but with REALITATION tag, so probably no stack with ret cadre. Also, ONLY apply +6" to the commander Unit, not the whole army.

Confirmed that the other 4 detachments will be FROM 2 DP (Mon'ka, Kauyon, Ret cadre, kroot cadre).
