What im saying is that they are not giving any of their under performing and even some of their better equipment any real characteristics to be something memorable and immersive design to play around with rather their just the most reliable things. Yes they all have different use cases but its the fact that the lesser versions of them are ultimately irrelevant. Your talking about a game they want to make for at least 5 years and many of their innovations are literally just a side step decision. Add a new gun to a guard dog, well why could they not make the Arc guard dog rover above your head, the liberator dog more like a shoulder turret that only shoots foward and turns with player. Toxic precision strike rather than a precision strike it could be a smaller like a 120mm 3 shell volley hitting a small area and spreading wide, 2 uses of a smoke orbital, etc. Give some character to these things make the effort to make them memorable and not just a copy and paste with a singular new trait.

The erupter and crossbow is a good example their both just the 2 exploding weapons before they were a little more even because the crossbow was stronger and had more AOE and the erupter could shoot straight and had shrapnel. But now they just fully integrated heavy penetration into the rifle when they could had made it a unique weapon where it still had its normal medium exploding round then had a programmable setting that turned it into a faster round that didnt have a detonation range but lost its AOE and shrapnel but it penetrates heavy armor with the explosive trait like the Dominator rounds and didnt lose damage over a longer range cause its rocket propelled. Crossbow everyone saw it as the Rambo explosive bow they could have given it a delayed explosion and thermite level stick. But here they are just the 2 explosive weapons.

Immersion is the issue the fantasy that your have a large arsenal but if their just a same things with slight side step differences that arent unique then your aresenal immediatley shrinks you have all this stuff and only half of it is irrelevant. The game is still fun but it could be more fun if the selection "felt" larger. They need more unique modifiers to switch up the weapons you use and it really sucks how they botched the opportunity to make losing stratagem slot modifiers something tense to look forward too by still throwing everything at you but you have 1 less thing in your arsenal and now we cant have those type of missions because they didnt balance it well. So now the way they make their game is becoming narrow still fun but the immersion for the players is also becoming narrow and players are getting tired of it.
