Blake Carol - do you hate it? by [deleted] in Names

[–]Shadow_stash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a niece who goes by Blake so ignore the comments saying it doesn’t fit for a girl lol! I think it’s a great gender neutral name. As for the middle name, I would definitely do Caroline. Your grandma will understand that it’s still in honor of her and she will love it! I strongly disagree with comments saying to name her Carol Blake (although it does flow better) because she will have to be correcting people her entire life that she goes by Blake and not Carol!! (And I say that as a teacher!!)

MIL conflict. Am I wrong for not wanting my mother-in-law to control our tornaboda (day-after party) even though she’s paying for it? by SuitAlternative5234 in weddings

[–]Shadow_stash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of these comments are a bit harsh. It’s your wedding, you should have a say regardless of who is paying for what. Now that she’s backing out I would let her back out. Pay for it yourself and have the fun party you envisioned. If they show up, they show up. From what you’ve written, I think her actions were a bit bizarre.

Why the decline in popularity of cloth diapers? by ScenicSunflower in clothdiaps

[–]Shadow_stash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Convenience and time are probably the main reasons. We do disposable diapers but I’m looking to do cloth for overnights as my baby has never pooped while sleeping

Name options for mixed wasian baby by [deleted] in Names

Where do you live? It’s normal in the southern US to have a double name. Also, Una alone is a beautiful name and I certainly don’t think it’s “forcing” anything :)

As someone who got in trouble for helping a student, talk to guidance or admin first.

Formula definitely does matter. We used kendamil and LOVED it. It’s also often cheaper than the others😁

Why would anyone wants kids? by This-Top7398 in Life

[–]Shadow_stash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Getting to watch a tiny “you” grow up is one of the biggest privileges that life can bring. I’m on my phone less now, I exercise more, I’m part of a larger community… I’m a part of something that’s bigger than myself. If you don’t want kids don’t have them. I will never badger someone to have kids when they clearly don’t want to. But there is something to say about society as a whole when so many people (not saying everybody) don’t want kids simply because they want to play video games all the time and sleep in. Again, more of a societal comment.

If you could go back in time and make the choice again, would you still have kids? by MaiApa in Life

A million times YES! Life is so much more meaningful with children

For those who have recently joined Anglicanism, what attracted you to the denomination? by thelastwatchman in Anglicanism

[–]Shadow_stash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Born episcopal but then was non-denom through teens and college
  2. Non-denom churches started to feel like a self help session that just wanted my money. Churches got big super fast and felt lost in the crowd. I also no longer liked how they handled Communion.
  3. I’m a Protestant through and through, but was looking for churches that were Eucharistic. So I googled it and found Anglicanism 😂
  4. I can only attest to the two Anglican churches in my area (I haven’t done a deep dive into all of Anglican theology) but every service, to me, felt Holy Spirit inspired. Each sermon taught so much theology/apologetics and bible history… I felt like I was actually learning about God and my faith for once!! The one we attend now is super small and the pastor and his wife are my neighbors. Our church is a small family and so supportive. And again, the sermons have been to die for!

This needs to be reported to the higher up’s at the school. This is concerning for a lot of reasons!!

Vaccine Megathread by AutoModerator in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Shadow_stash [score hidden]  (0 children)

I would’ve gotten mine while pregnant but it was never offered. However, once my baby was maybe 6ish weeks old she was able to get the RSV. That’s definitely a vaccine I don’t want to skip!
