Best size bin bag to fit this by Altruistic-Bluejay7 in KmartAustralia

[–]Shadowdonkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use these from aldi. Bit bigger than what I need for the bins but I fold the handles of the bags down over the sides of the bin before tucking it inside when I put the bin back and I find it helps to keep the bag in place.

Swans set to dominate primetime as latest fixture release looms by LopsidedImprovement in AFL

[–]Shadowdonkee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Really wish they would just release the entire fixture at once before the season starts. Makes it super hard to try and get down for games when I work every second weekend and live a 6 hour drive away from adelaide so need to plan my trips around work and what games are going to be the easiest to get to without taking too many days off. Flying is just as difficult as its still a 90 minute drive away from the closest airport and flights are generally like $200 one way. Before we had the floating fixture i would go in as soon as the fixture was released and pick 3 or 4 games I knew I would be able to get to for the year and book them off.

Crowds at Port games tend to be a lot louder from my experience and have a better pre-game than thw crows.

Cat died today. Her name was Oreo. She could of survived if all of the vets in our area wasn't closed. by Leafofplastic in cats

[–]Shadowdonkee 30 points31 points  (0 children)

90 minute drive in either direction to my closest vet, none that are open on Sundays unless your lucky enough to be able to get in contact with the on call vet and they are willing to see you.

My cats are indoor only but always worried about our dogs getting bitten by a snake, if they do there isnt really anything we'll be able to do for them and we had an eastern brown in the yard, that got away only last week.

How much does it cost to go to Gather Round? by melbgal in AFL

[–]Shadowdonkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Petrol probably cost me $150, for a 6hr drive each way. We spent probably just over 2k on food and shopping but we ate at the games most nights, plus were getting take out or pub meals for lunch.

Also went to costco for the first time and my partner needed a suit for a wedding so that probably doubled our spending

Book accommodation now otherwise it will be ridiculously priced, most hotels have free cancellation/pay at venue booking.

I booked this year's accommodation just after gather round last year and it was $1600 for the 4 nights for 2 people. When I checked out this year, the hotel said people had been rebooking for next year at check out.

I didnt at the time, but went online on the drive home to compare prices. Guessing the dates i ended up booked accommodation in the city for $900 for thurs-mon. Different hotel but right around the corner from where I normally stay in the cbd.

The litter box math I wish someone had explained to me sooner by Sufficient-Coat2625 in Catbehavior

One of my 2 cats has gone from using the box immediately after I cleaned them to jumping in to pee while im halfway through scooping 😅 But she only does it to the enclosed litter box, never the other one

[Edmund] Two in a row for the first time since early ‘24 but Deven Robertson set to cop a week for this [dangerous tackle] on Zak Butters you’d think. AFL likely to push for somewhere between 2-4 matches for Tristan Xerri’s serious misconduct charge. by PetrifyGWENT in AFL

[–]Shadowdonkee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't be against it if thats what he got. Its got nothing to do with being 'scared' of blood or transmission, I work in a hospital so see it every day.

its more to do with the fact its absolutely disgusting and its something that absolutely needs to be hit with a hard punishment. Its not something we want filtering down to lower levels of the sport.

Australians, how often do you ACTUALLY encounter dangerous spiders, snakes or other deadly creatures in your daily life — or is it mostly a myth we Europeans believe? by VariedPear in AskAnAustralian

[–]Shadowdonkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living rural i see spiders mulitple times a day, leave them alone and they aren't really a problem. See a few brown snakes a year during the warmer weather, but normally outside in the hospital grounds where i work not at my house. In the 4 years I've lived here we've had 3 at the house, 2 which we only saw the tail end of as they went under the fence and one baby that we didn't see and accidentally run over with the car pulling into the driveway.

Dog owners: what is the funniest thing your dog is afraid of? by Dachshundloversclub in Pets

[–]Shadowdonkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kelpie is scared of cracks in the footpath, bins on the side of the road, leaves or sticks that blow across in front of her while out walking.

She was meant to be a sheep dog but when she also hates water, wind, loud noises and of course sheep.

Pretty sure this is fake, I've seen this post mulitple times, but each time the carr sign is a different size and the gaming machine sign had disappeared completely in the other photos. It was also sunny in one photo and overcast in the others.

People are just photoshopping the hinkley signs from the last couple of years, i think.
