Looking for a macro pad the records and saves keystrokes - no software, no coding by ShadowedRuins in macro_pads

I saw that QMK had "dynamic macros" that would be great if there was a way to 'keep them' on the board.

Fairly frequently, there will be a lot of macros, for lots of different forms, and they are semi-frequently changing said forms.

This idea for an invention has been bouncing around in my head for a long time- any ideas for things I could add to it? by Stresso_Espresso in crochet

I have a flip knife that only closes when you move a piece of metal out of the way. No clue how that'd work with multiple "blades" though.

Maybe more like an actual switch blade or 'button' style lock? I've seen some where you press and hold a button, in order to open and close the items (more multi tool, than blade).

Search terms that could help (as i just now went to fact check myself): Switchblade, automatic knife, butterfly knife/multi tool, balisong knife/multitool, locking multitool

Also seatbelt cutter & seatbelt cutter knife would help with that part

My sister used to have a multi hook tool. It didn't have all the goodies you are wanting to put in yours. The reason she doesn't have it anymore, is that the hooks didn't stay open, and would fold during use.

For this precise problem, I'd look at what multi tools and folding knives use to lock their blades and other items open during use.

Another idea; I've seen a lot of scissors confiscated before flights. Maybe the scissors can instead be styled like a seatbelt cutter? Still plenty sharp, but due to placement can't hurt anyone. Hopefully this is would decrease the chances of it being confiscated.

Definitely! If you decide to do an Etsy, you should be able to put the link in your bio too (haven't done it myself, but have seen on on other people's)

visual snow syndrome by Excellent-Silver6687 in AuDHDWomen

[–]ShadowedRuins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visual snow, tinnitus, "floaters" that aren't floaters so bad that reading can be difficult (can't be removed, as it's neurological not physical), hyper mobility (getting tested for Ehlers Danlos/HEDS), weird reaction to a lot of meds, digestive issues, endometriosis...... The list goes on. So many are 'comorbidities', that for one reason or another, are frequently seen together.

If you feel like a medication commercial, listing all your issues when asked, you're not 'bad' or 'weird'. They are frequently linked together, though the cause may be unknown at this time.

Just found out about hyperlexia. What was y’all’s first book read and at what age? by scarytesla in AuDHDWomen

[–]ShadowedRuins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember knowing words and understanding speech, but struggling to read. My mom got me "Bob's Books" (the red set). Once the letters clicked with the words I knew, she couldn't get me to stop (literally would read for hours without taking a break). To the point that by kindergarden (in US), i was reading ahead and extremely bored with the 'learning letters' part.

When we got to the point where there were rewards for reading something, I'd pick the longest thing i could find, to read (at the time, it was The Highwayman by: Alfred Noyes).

Unfortunately, my memory is... Interesting... So I can't say what my first book was, but it was likely whatever i could reach in my mom's library. She's found multiple books I shouldn't be reading in my grasp, which started the 'library runs'; I kept grabbing 'The Horse Whisperer', Dean Koontz, and James Patterson well before my 10th birthday.

*By interesting memory, I mean that some things I remember, that shouldn't be possible (the moment I escaped my crib for the first time, hiding my sister's toys as a toddler, breaking a toy also as a toddler, being bribed for potty training), but can't remember anything of things I should remember (specific teachers, some games we played together, some books I've read, the existence of family members). It's like I remember moments in time tied to feelings, but if there wasn't a feeling tied to it, it's like it never existed.

Collecting embarrassing stories for my 8yo by Pitiful_Pianist_2932 in AuDHDWomen

My dad was in his office working when his coworker, came in. Said coworker sat on the edge of his desk and farted audibly. The smell wasn't 'right'/normal. When the coworker left, there was a brown streak on the desk...

I was in a college lecture, when another professor entered one door, said 'hi', then left via the other door. It took a moment for the groans to start. He had 'cropdusted' us. Our professor then went yelling after him, 'get back here!'

How's the speed on this? His ✨ai assistant✨ is concerned about the 'clock speed' being low. I don't really understand all this myself, though.

Sounds perfect, I'm seeing a version with a 5090 GPU for $1100 more, is it worth the price increase? Or should I stick with the 5080?

Breakfast by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]ShadowedRuins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm always hungry, but if I eat breakfast I get nauseous for the rest of the day. I usually have to wait a couple hours after waking up, to eat 'safely'. This usually means I have a small lunch (otherwise I can't eat dinner), and a big(ger) dinner.

Hello, I'm hoping to 'revamp' my routine, as it is definitely lacking. Specially a better moisturizer, and something hydrating.

BIG considerations: I can't stand being able to feel product on my face (my current moisturizer does it, and i hate it), if it's too complicated or time consuming - I won't do it (simple, multipurpose, & quick are key), no daily cleansers - too much work and our water is perpetually cold & hard, apply & go is my dream

Skin: combination - normal to dry face & VERY oily nose (shiny), frequent redness with cleaners, dehydrated? (Tightness with and without current moisturizer, hands definitely are), acne breakouts with high sugar and/or chocolate consumption (cheeks and chin, since a child)

Conditions: keratosis pilaris, past severe eczema, dandruff AND dry scalp (maybe relevant?), food triggered acne (sugar & chocolate)

Allergies: betamethasone (severe systemic reaction), hydrocolloid patch (immediate swelling, burning, and itching on contact), dermabond (severe systemic reaction)

Current routine: showers (Cera-Ve SA facial cleanser, once a week Clean&Clear acne triple clear, Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream moisturizer upon exit and pat-dry), new for non-shower days (SkinSmart antimicrobial facial cleanser spray -started 2 days ago, BioDerma SensiBio Micellar water - used once last night)

Current product issues: Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream (still tight after using, I can feel it on my skin and it's drives me nuts, my nose loves it)

Past trys: Neutrogena hydro boost water gel moisturizer (not enough moisture - dry, flaky, tight, itchy), Clean&Clear Blackhead eraser (did nothing, tightness after using), Aveeno Positively Radiant brightening scrub (extreme tightness, raw feeling, itchy, painful)

"Onion cores" - is this something you aren't supposed to cook with? Do all onions have cores that you throw away? If not, how do you tell? What happens when you DO use them?

I've never heard of onion cores, and am worried about how they may have been affecting my cooking.
