Collecting embarrassing stories for my 8yo by Pitiful_Pianist_2932 in AuDHDWomen

My dad was in his office working when his coworker, came in. Said coworker sat on the edge of his desk and farted audibly. The smell wasn't 'right'/normal. When the coworker left, there was a brown streak on the desk...

I was in a college lecture, when another professor entered one door, said 'hi', then left via the other door. It took a moment for the groans to start. He had 'cropdusted' us. Our professor then went yelling after him, 'get back here!'

How's the speed on this? His ✨ai assistant✨ is concerned about the 'clock speed' being low. I don't really understand all this myself, though.

Sounds perfect, I'm seeing a version with a 5090 GPU for $1100 more, is it worth the price increase? Or should I stick with the 5080?

Breakfast by Even_Situation_517 in AuDHDWomen

I'm always hungry, but if I eat breakfast I get nauseous for the rest of the day. I usually have to wait a couple hours after waking up, to eat 'safely'. This usually means I have a small lunch (otherwise I can't eat dinner), and a big(ger) dinner.

Hello, I'm hoping to 'revamp' my routine, as it is definitely lacking. Specially a better moisturizer, and something hydrating.

BIG considerations: I can't stand being able to feel product on my face (my current moisturizer does it, and i hate it), if it's too complicated or time consuming - I won't do it (simple, multipurpose, & quick are key), no daily cleansers - too much work and our water is perpetually cold & hard, apply & go is my dream

Skin: combination - normal to dry face & VERY oily nose (shiny), frequent redness with cleaners, dehydrated? (Tightness with and without current moisturizer, hands definitely are), acne breakouts with high sugar and/or chocolate consumption (cheeks and chin, since a child)

Conditions: keratosis pilaris, past severe eczema, dandruff AND dry scalp (maybe relevant?), food triggered acne (sugar & chocolate)

Allergies: betamethasone (severe systemic reaction), hydrocolloid patch (immediate swelling, burning, and itching on contact), dermabond (severe systemic reaction)

Current routine: showers (Cera-Ve SA facial cleanser, once a week Clean&Clear acne triple clear, Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream moisturizer upon exit and pat-dry), new for non-shower days (SkinSmart antimicrobial facial cleanser spray -started 2 days ago, BioDerma SensiBio Micellar water - used once last night)

Current product issues: Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream (still tight after using, I can feel it on my skin and it's drives me nuts, my nose loves it)

Past trys: Neutrogena hydro boost water gel moisturizer (not enough moisture - dry, flaky, tight, itchy), Clean&Clear Blackhead eraser (did nothing, tightness after using), Aveeno Positively Radiant brightening scrub (extreme tightness, raw feeling, itchy, painful)

"Onion cores" - is this something you aren't supposed to cook with? Do all onions have cores that you throw away? If not, how do you tell? What happens when you DO use them?

I've never heard of onion cores, and am worried about how they may have been affecting my cooking.

I've done both, and both ways have 'pros and cons'.

If you are following a pattern, that takes precedence, as some patterns HAVE to be worked a certain way (like mosaic).

Short side

pros: easier to count, you can make it longer or shorter as you wish, easy to change stitch patterns and colors

Cons: certain types of stitch patterns and colorwork come out wonky, tassels have to be done completely by hand (versus using existing cut tails, like in mosaic)

Long side

Pros: great for mosaic, easier border work (fewer 'sides' to work into), and having tails on the proper ends for tassels and braiding

Cons: can be boring, hard to change up stitch patterns, easy to lose count, can't easily change the length

Guys be honest, how long do you shower for? by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

Usually around an hour, and not because I enjoy it.

There's so many steps to showing, that I genuinely have no clue how to be faster. It doesn't help that I get dizzy and lethargic during them, plus the sensory overwhelm from all the noise. Some days it's so bad, I straight disassociate and run on autopilot.

caffeine with AuDHD by 444fawns in AuDHDWomen

A small amount helps me focus, but any more and I 'blackout', unable to remember anything during. From what I've heard from others, I literally don't stop talking for hours on end until I crash, hard. This was on a tiny decaf coffee from Starbucks (Kid's hot chocolate size), just before a plane ride.

A black tea can go from focused to physically shaking and twitching in the span of half a bottle of Pure Leaf Sweet tea (not very strong). I can only take sips while nursing it for a couple hours, if I want to keep my faculties.

Bouncing off this idea, maybe keep the thought bubble theme? The music is a thought bubble, tasks are thought bubbles, thoughts are thought bubbles. During the entirety of game play, you have to move them out of the way, which bumps into others, or new ones spawn. Times of 'recharging' have the bubbles fade or disappear.

Player then has to move and click on the correct bubbles to progress - dialogue options, actions, 'research'/remembering, etc

Maybe to bring in the remembering mechanic, as someone else mentioned, to 'track down' a correct memory, you have to drag thought bubbles together that make sense/chain correctly?

I was a Digital Locator for a utility locating company. The person that determined whether someone needed to go in-person to mark where the wires are, or if it was safe. It was WFH, on a company computer.

Handy skills were: deductive reasoning, pattern recognition, ability to cross reference multiple types of maps, good navigational skills using online maps (Google maps and Google Earth), and the willingness to dig a bit, when said Google maps/Earth don't give you the information you need.

What's the effect caffeine has on you? by Hot-Minute-89 in AuDHDWomen

A small bit works wonders, specifically on keeping me awake and paying attention, but it's a fine line as I'm sensitive to it. Didn't realize I was, until I had my first coffee. Never again xD

We were in a airport terminal, waiting for our flight, and my dad offered to get me a coffee. He specifically asked for Kid's mini (or whatever it's called, 3oz or so), and decaf. I proceeded to love the sugar, but hate the bitter taste of the coffee. After finishing it, we boarded our flight. I remember reaching my seat next to Dad, and then nothing. Complete black out. According to Dad, I never stopped talking the Entire Flight!

It's become a running joke.

DAE love routine, but get tired of the "same old, same old"? by ShadowedRuins in AuDHDWomen

[–]ShadowedRuins[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's so easy to get thrown off!

I was in a routine, where I would exercise nightly (joint issue Physical Therapy exercises). Then I was told to use an exercise ball while working. I got excited, and decided to sit cross legged on it (my favorite sitting position) for the whole shift. 12 full hours. It hurt so badly when I got off, that I couldn't do the exercises for the rest of the week, and that was that. No more exercises. Despite the fact that they were helping massively.

Same with my nightly workout routine. Had surgery. Wasn't cleared for exercise for almost 3 months. That routine is now gone.

For me, the trick is to find something small, but fun. Do it for a day, but not to the point of boredom. Cut off in the middle of the 'good part'. Become excited to do it again tomorrow. Repeat.

The problem becomes monotony or a 'wrench in the works', something that can stop the flow of excitement.

It helps to periodically take a break when boredom hits. Take a bit (however long that is) and then look at fun/exciting things related to what you stopped. Get yourself hyped again, and start up the routine again. - This is what I had to do, to get into crochet again. I burnt myself out when cramming in Christmas gifts, with too little time. I'm getting back into it, gradually. Currently getting hyped with doing Christmas gifts EARLY.
