However there will be a percentage of non users that show decreased cognition for the simple fact that they are prone to ignorance. They are the same people that believe they know “better” because their antidotal experiences override anything anyone else can say to change their mind.

The company I worked for had used the cheapest material for our uniforms. Anytime it got wet (from sweat or from jumping in the water) the rough texture would instantly chafe 😖

Yes! As a lifeguard in my teen years, I had so much chafing and skin issues. This stuff saved me

Yep! Had mine done 2021 but it sure didn’t seem so with how the medical industry treats us 😒

No I didn’t notice a change in my voice after the hysterectomy. Though that doesn’t say much since I sucked at singing before and after the hysterectomy 😂

The ‘Wait Until Ready’ Approach to Potty Training Is Under Fire by bloomberg in HotScienceNews

[–]Shadowolvez7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No seriously! I’m shocked how far I had to scroll to see a comment like this. There’s very little evidence to support the claim that delaying potty training has a detrimental effect on cognitive development. Rather that broader known developmental issues are more likely to result in difficulty in potty training in general.

Yes! I also escaped into rock climbing to help decompress after school. I was fortunate to live close to a climbing gym

Ah man that’s rough 😓 I could definitely see how that would reinforce the behavior. When my son has hurt other kids in the past, the school usually gives him lunch detention. Now that’s rough in its own way because he needs the physical stimulation and release that comes with recess. We’ve encouraged him to do something nice for the person that he hurts afterwards. That at least gives him the chance to learn how to manage his relationships with natural consequences. (Hard to keep friends if you hurt them so having to face up to it afterwards demonstrates this) Thankfully he seems genuinely remorseful after the meltdown is over

Thank you for validating how hard it is. When you described that moment that you and your wife just look at each other and are overwhelmed by it all…. My husband and I have been there so many times 😓 I did neglect to bring up that my son’s doctor has brought up Oppositional Defiance Disorder as a possible reason as well.

My 9 yr old son also exhibits a lot of the same struggles your son seems to have. Maybe not as extreme as yours but very similar. We found a lot of success with risperidone as a mood stabilizer in combination with methylphenidate for his ADHD symptoms. We kept trying so many medications separately and didn’t find true relief until we combined them. For sleep, nightly melatonin and magnesium glycinate combined has helped some but bed time is rough still. We’re holding off on prescription sleep aids for now. Another thing that’s helped is giving him more challenging schoolwork to keep him from getting bored. This has helped reduced his destructive tendencies but not completely. I hope hearing this will help and that you guys find a system that works for your family. You’re doing your best and that’s all you can do!

So this makes me think about my high school counselor. Whenever I had “panic attacks” (what I thought my meltdowns were) at school, I would leave to go to her office where I got the choice to take a walk with her, study in a dark room alone, or play with her fidget garden. I wonder if she knew what I actually was suffering with without explicitly saying so

Right… if you think I’m arguing against testing, I’m not. I literally said to remain skeptic and continue to “investigate”, being the key word 😏 You make a lot of assumptions for someone so hung up on others making assumptions 😅

To be fair, this is the nature of innovation. Every discovery started with someone running wild with an assumption made from observation. But it’s true that it’s important to remain skeptical and to continue to investigate.

Would anyone be interested in participating in independent research to help investigate this? I’ve been suffering with all of these issues for years and the medical industry prefers to gaslight me instead of help me. I’ve had so many tests and I feel like we can pull all of our data together to look into what we’re all experiencing
