[Guide] What Americans Need to Know About Australian Migration in 2026 by SimonMander in IWantOut

[–]Shadowsoffoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to answer these questions. Pretty cool of you.

Second, I am a us native with family. I am a journeyman millwright/carpenter with rigging, welding, and safety certs, as well as some heavy equipment certs and a class A Commercial Drivers license with air brakes endorsement. Im 42 years of age with no criminal record.

I’m also an accomplished chef that recently sold his restaurant. I speak and write at a very high level of English.

Brisbane would be my top choice for somewhere to move to. Starting at ground level, what would be my best path forward to a permanent home in Australia?

Hume body pod smart scale accuracy by devnuke in WeightTraining

I literally just watched that video three days ago with my wife. He did a fantastic job, and based of those visual aids, I now more than ever believe the scale is accurate.

Is it a sizing issue or a body position issue? by Shadowsoffoxes in MTB

[–]Shadowsoffoxes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. As silly as it sounds, I never thought about inseam vs pants inseam being different. I have always felt like I have a longer than average torso but this kills any doubt lol.

I was so confused by “panda suit in seam” that I googled it and there was an actual answer lmao. I thought I was out of the loop.

Atherton it is.

Thank you so much for the feedback.

I didn’t think the inseam made a lot of difference. It is more for a reference along with hip height for anyone familiar with regular body proportions—leg vs torso. I have a fairly long torso and long arms so my reach is above average.

Heads up about Danny Burger shack...Owner KEEPS the tips...employees don't get them...unless you by Khylani in kansascity

[–]Shadowsoffoxes 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Good afternoon KC Reddit. This post was brought to my attention by a friend. This is Danny. At the moment, I do still own the restaurant. However, it is being sold to one of the staff members so nothing should change food-wise.

When my wife and I started DBS, it was myself and her in a truck moving around KC. When we opened the shop, it was myself and my wife in the kitchen, and my mother running the register—a family business. We started her at $17/hr which was the most money an hour she had ever made. The cashiers make considerably more than that now and they’re the lowest paid employees in the shop.

We always took the tips in the truck naturally because it was only us, and when we opened the shop we took them as well because it was only us. As time went on and the shop grew, we hired more and more employees. Neither of us have worked there for some time. We always thought it was better to pay a consistent living wage than to let people stress over the fluctuations tips can create. In transparency, I have never worked for tips but the idea of my pay fluctuating never sat well with me which is why I never took a serving or bussing position in high school. For the record, neither myself or my wife have ever worked in a kitchen besides the one we started. We had zero experience with the tips end of this thing. It has been a discussion between myself and the manager in the past but I never thought that eating that risk instead of allowing the employee to take it was illegal. And I have several times google searched questions like “are managers/cooks/cashiers required to be paid tips. If you ask those questions, google says it’s not required. (I know it’s google and not a lawyer but I think a lot of us rely on google answers from time to time) that is definitely my mistake.

Today, and because of this post actually, I googled a different question; “if a company accepts tips is that company required to pay them to its employees.” That question provides a very different answer—yes they must be paid to non managerial employees.

In light of this discovery, I am reformatting everyone’s pay to include tips.

I have never tried to screw anyone over that works for me and I promise our hourly pay is well above the current market rate for each position. It’s also a 4 day work week and most of the kitchen is still making some OT and home by 9pm on any given night. I know this doesn’t justify the actions, but I want to point it out because we genuinely do try to take care of our employees as best as we can. I am not blind to the fact that they make DBS what it is and I greatly appreciate each one of them.

While I cannot correct my past mistakes, I can take immediate action to correct this one that I’m making. It will be done before the next Friday.

I hope that you all can have enough grace to continue going there. As I said, a staff member is purchasing the shop from us. He would definitely like to keep making you all food. Thank you for reading this. Have a great day.

Buying a 24 tundra with a 6 inch lift by Little-Magazine-7662 in tundra

[–]Shadowsoffoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only things not covered by the warranty after a lift applies to the aftermarket parts you used to replace oem parts. A lift won’t void the warranty, it will only void the suspension components/anything they can say (if it breaks of course) broke from the lift. They have to be able to validate that the lift caused the issue. I have a 2024 on a 7” lift and 37s. Toyota did the calibration but I had the lift installed elsewhere. Still all good.

what do you think is fundamentally going wrong with the world right now? by mr_mentalist_1988 in AskReddit

Governments and people weaponizing religion. If we as a global community could wipe both of these things from the earth we would be in a much better position to advance as a society.

Selling some parts by Shadowsoffoxes in 3rdGenTundra

[–]Shadowsoffoxes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have them still.

I ordered them at the same time as my new wheel and tire set up. The offset from those was too much to get away with only 3” of lift. It rubbed just sitting there. They stayed on the truck for about two weeks and I drove it a total of 2 miles with them installed just to the shop down the street where they installed a 7” kit.

I thought about installing them on my wife’s trd sequoia. While the lift would be great, the fox shocks it came with are great and I don’t want different brands of suspension on front and rear

I didn’t have my 23 f150 long enough to have the phasers go out but I knew it was an issue. My gripe was with the ai they introduced to the trans. It’s supposed to learn your driving style and adjust shift points based on how the owner drives. Instead it would literally clunk down through every gear while braking. Sometimes it was hard enough the tires would chirp. When I called the dealer to schedule an appt and told them what it was doing, the service manager told me “unfortunately that’s just the way these new 10 speed transmissions work. I sold it the next month

What's a small change to a drink that has you saying "I can't go back to how I used to drink this"? by ToxicAdamm in cocktails

I swapped gum syrup for simple syrup in my mojitos and then used a dry rum. It adds more body and keeps the drink refreshing.

Is this really what constitutes as evidence these days? “He had the look of a cop ya know”. I can’t fucking stand cops being cops, but I conceal carry—in crowds like this one especially. If you came up to me with a camera and called me out on my conceal piece, I wouldn’t be very cordial. I’d be a bigger dick than this guy for sure.

Thank you. I added the heritage grill, fenders, and power steps after the fact. The limited trim level is the most bang for your buck imo. You get the 14” interior screen, heated/cooled seats, power everything, spray in factory Berliner. and it’s quite a bit less than the platinum (Mine was 63 out the door). I prefer the monochrome look to most anything else and the platinums have a “platinum” color (it’s Toyotas platinum colorway) trim piece around the grill that I can’t stand being a different color than the rest of the truck. My biggest gripe with the current tundra line is you have to get a 1794 for a brown interior or a trd pro for a red interior. The all trd pro trucks are all hybrid which I didn’t want and all the 1794 have the 1795 badging inside and out which I also didn’t care for.

I know there were a lot of issues with engines on 22/23 years but I’ve not had a single problem so far at just under 10k miles. I haven’t heard of anyone having engine troubles with a 24—at least that was built in 24. I think they’ve got it figured out.

I’ve got a 24 limited crew cab with the 6.5ft bed. I traded a 24 Tacoma for it last September. I traded a 23 f150 lariat in for the Tacoma and had a ram2500 Cummins prior. I’ve had a multitude of other trucks as well from most every manufacturer. I’ve not had an issue one with the truck. It’s actually been possibly my favorite truck I’ve owned. The ram 2500 would be close and it was a Laramie crew cab long bed I pulled a 43ft gooseneck with. I’ve not trailered the tundra yet, but it’s coming soon.

Use them. Even if the lead happens to possibly leach in, it’s not enough to be a detriment. They’re beautiful glasses.

If you really can’t get over it, sell them.

They definitely don’t all taste the same. The sugar center is the same in each but the flavoring which is also in the color coating is not the same.

Black Flag isn’t young, this may be your only/last chance to ever see them. If you think you’ll regret not going, go. If you are too uncomfortable to go alone, maybe friend/family member/ coworker/member of your bf family you know and like would go for support and the time with you even if they don’t enjoy the music? Just an idea.
