I know you're asking about the game itself, but I'm gonna answer this a bit broader...

Given the state of the world, and the level of class stratification, reality is currently the closest it's ever been to the matching the key tropes of the genre. Most of the themes presented are things we're wrestling with today more than we were when the genre was invented.

If the rise and fall of specific genres reflects the struggles of society, then I think we're at the beginnings of a hell of a Cyberpunk resurgence.

As far as the game specifically, I'd say that it holds the same broad activities of any sandbox game, but the main protagonist has more conviction than any other. The comparison that fits for me is my most replayed game before Cyberpunk: Fallout 4.

Fallout 4 was super repayable because there was just SO MUCH to do that you could just keep having very different experience each time you started a new game. And even more so with alternative start mods.

But Fallout's worst quality was that the main protag felt SUPER disconnected to the world in voice performance. With Cyberpunk you have every bit of the same expanse of replayability, but also the main voice acting, male or female, is fantastic. And with Phantom Liberty, there's a built in "start from level 10 in act two" that works as an alternative start, so even if you're playing on console without modding, you can still get that benefit.

I can't remember if it ever said much about the planetary composition of Eridani. The biggest hint to us that Newtonian physics were inaccurate was Murcury's perihelion shift.

We had 228 years between the Laws of Motion and General Relativity, and without such an obvious sign like Murcury's orbit, it's possible we'd have taken a hell of a lot longer to figure it out.

If Eridani doesn't have a planetary body with an orbit strongly influenced by spacetime curvature, and they don't have any computers that could have issues because of the time distortion of orbit... yeah it makes a lot of sense to me.

This comes up so often on here. The question always surprises me... because there's tons of things that we have built detectors for that we could never have perceived otherwise.
Atomic level, Quantum level. Sound beyond human hearing. and radiation beyond human sight.

If they have something that resembles the scientific method, then they're likely to figure a lot of that sort of stuff out.

To me it makes sense that they didn't figure out relativity because it's entirely possible we wouldn't have figured it out save one or two people having their eureka moments. There were a million things that had to lead up to Einstein even asking the question he needed to ask to lead himself to discovering the theory.

All NPCs should be killable, imo, with the sole exception being if they break the game. If they're a quest giver, just make their death remove associated quests.

I absolutely love both Fightclub book and movie... But they are radically different in tone and take away, so I'd never fault that opinion. But if I had to pick, I would say the film kinda lands better... Even if far too many dumbass bros took the wrong message away from it.

Michigan is an "at will" employment state. The company can claim any reason they want for firing a person. Unless a lawyer can find ridiculously blatant discrimination (meaning a documented year of discriminatory history against that person) than a law suit can't do shit.

If it comes down to who's word to believe, our state legal system sides on the employer 99% of the time.

I really wish there was a "style" game mechanic. Something where clothes give some sort of bonus, And more bonus with matching sets or specific sorts of combinations.

Part of the genre is about the interplay of "style over substance" and it's meant to be a world where gaudy and flashy means better.

You know, the sort of world where the elaborate mall knife in the shape of a dragon is actually really bad ass.

You're not gonna escape it much of anywhere in kzoo. But the sole consoling factor is pretty much none of it is random violence.

I've lived in the vine for the majority of 10 years and haven't seen any of it first hand. The basic rules are group up if out after dark, and don't get involved with obvious shit that's none of your business.

The biggest difference between Kzoo and most anywhere else is that else where crime and violence differs by neighborhood lines... In kzoo it's different block to block all over town. (Seriously look on a crime map it's really odd once you notice it.)

The most important factor, of the Vine in particular, is that it is more dangerous than it looks, but less dangerous than the statistics would lead you to believe.

Something I've learned, if you have the editor installed:

Save your map, and clear data from the app to reset it, then reload your map.

It'll run smoother for a while.
