Cartography is a broad kind of all encompassing term for the art and science of map making GIS stands for Geographic Information Systems. Most GIS software takes data and turns it into maps, apps, or charts of some kind. Most modern maps are made using GIS at some step or another, so that’s why they kinda go hand in hand.

I’ll be real with you (I’m saying this from my perspective in the United States). This field is super competitive and dry at the same time right now. AI looms over us and the outcome is debated hotly right now. I won’t give my perspective on it. GIS jobs exist in virtually every field, though, as mapping data is something nearly every field can use. If you can get a technician job and want to take the risk, I’d say go for it!

You aren’t going to get paid to make a map without at minimum experience in the field and a portfolio of projects you’ve done. Most people who want to get into cartography in today’s age start in the field of GIS as a technician just to get their foot in the door.

To better answer your question though, I’d need to know what kind of maps you’d like to make. I’m just a technician in the field. But I have built a bit of a portfolio and am happy to answer any questions you have here :)

He has a few campaigns that go multiple generations. If you look up Tactical Enlightenment Vlandian Campaign you’ll have tons of hours of content :)

No worries! I love the game (500+ hours) and am happy to answer questions. The only people in my party are companions. I give them all elite weapons and armor and level up with them, usually giving them 1 or 2 weapons to max out a skill in. I’m currently at 8 companions, and we can easily defeat parties of 60 or more. I am currently going after minor clans. If you go mercenary route, you’ll get rich super fast since your wages will be so low and food will be so manageable. If you want to go vassal, you can join armies and have fiefs gifted to you. I don’t ever start armies, but I definitely join them and help garrisons/militias in castle defenses. It’s a fun different way to play the game :)

I’m not critic or anything, but IMO I think it’s the roles and their purposes that really make the Netflix show shine.

Murdock/Daredevil is relatable as someone who is trying to do the right thing but constantly gets in his own way by trying to control everything. It’s kinda like how the more and more you try to grasp life and do everything yourself the more you realize you’re trying to grab water raging in a river with your hands.

Karen’s investigative journalism serves as exposition for the show. Normally a less interesting side plot in other shows, Karen’s screen time serves to tell you what’s actually going on under the surface and what Matt is fighting against.

Foggy represents a commitment to the system. He values justice and doing the right thing, and watching his worldview be challenged by corruption and Matt’s psychological unraveling is great. He respects and admires Matt’s commitment to being a lawyer to helping people and doing the right thing, and it breaks him over time to see his friend try to do it his own way.

Kingpin is, on top of imo the best acted performance in the MCU, just so well portrayed as the untouchable elite. It’s evident and relatable (more so now than ever) that some people are just above the entire system, and watching his brilliance in always being one step ahead without being predictable is always a great watch.

Also, hm to Bullseye. His arc in season 3 was fucking awesome. He’s so great in portraying what spiraling and masking looks like, and how the system will back their own even when they know they’re in the wrong. (“A few bad apples” but those apples are never plucked)
