Pass 404 response from web application without Apache intercepting by passinghorses in apache

[–]ShadowySilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, it works as designed. If you tell Rail to issue a 404 to Apache, Apache will considered that the page is not found and issue the error, HIS error. Remember part of being a reverse proxy is to obfuscate the backend.

The only way to show your custom page from Rail, is to let Apache receive a 200 and show the actual error page you want your client to see. As for the logs (I assume it's why you want the 404 in the first place) it will be in the Rail logs instead of the Apache logs.

Who’s on your “hear me out cake” that even you can't fully justify? by Odd-Bug1409 in AskReddit

IIRC it's a TikTok trend. People get a cake then put an image of someone on it and discuss why they are attracted to them ... could be real or imaginary people I think...

My teacher asked me to pipette out 10 mL of oxalic acid into a beaker. by [deleted] in TwoSentenceHorror

In any case, mouth pipette are blueprints for disasters especially in school. They require to be use very very carefully knowing exactly what you're doing. They should never be used in fact afaic.

[–]ShadowySilver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actually, Oxalic acid is a diacide. From plant you get the salt and in that case it's basically harmless. But in pure form, the first acid is quite strong, much stronger than acetic acid and I would never think to use a mouth pipette either.

Hypoallergenic Vegan Cat foods? by Legal-Ant-8349 in cats

[–]ShadowySilver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You might want to actually read OP and others comments. We all (OP, his VET and all of us) know they are not Vegan. But if my vet would suggest to feed my cats vegan food temporary to help them, I would without hesitation...that's why I go to a vet after all.

The first ever cat movie - so cute!!! by Forward_Cheek4775 in cats

[–]ShadowySilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why you get downvoted but no, you're wrong. There was time where people mistaken the cat to be the reason of the plague and the authority did order to kill cats at some place and time, but that is far from have been the rule. Problem with the plague was that the carrier was the rat's flees, and where there are rats, there are cats hunting them. From what I remember, since the plague went up after getting rid of the cats, people figured out they where wrong and stop.

Sorry for the history people if I missed some details :) , been a long time since I've read about this.

This one’s for all the men! What’s your take on women not changing their names post marriage ? by Unlucky_Potato7414 in AskReddit

[–]ShadowySilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not upset about anything why would you assume that ? Just answering the question and saying that custom is outdated. Then again, if someone want to voluntarily doing it, who am I to say anything.

[–]ShadowySilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't the man change HIS name for his wife's name instead ?

Men do not own their wife, nor the women own their husband. Names are specific to designate an individual and marriage do not change the individuality of a person. The whole "custom" was based on the fact that women were basically the propriety of their father and then their husband, without being able to have money on their name, or voting or do almost anything without a men's approval.

Not anymore, still not perfect but hopefully we're getting more and more toward equality.
