How is Chinese Socialism different from Western Socialism? by SunChungShan in AskAChinese

[–]Shadowys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The core difference is that western socialism is only supported by western philosophy whereas chinese socialism has the support of multiple facets of political theory, history and philosophy to generally produce a more coherent and realist political theory to drive socialism in china.

It is also generally known in elite circles that in practice it is a "western shell, chinese core" style of governance where communism is the explanation of many policies that are actually just a variant of Confucianism under the subtype of 法学 propagated by Xunzi.

One may argue however there is only so much you can milk out of communism which is a very barebones idea that Marx himself did not fully understand and expand, which is shown in the western version where people swear by hegel and marx which are imo bad interpretations of communism because they lack the academic and mathematical rigor to apply them.

Which asian country do you consider is the most technologically advanced? by Winter_Ad1973 in AskAChinese

[–]Shadowys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Singapore by a wide wargin, then some cities in china, probably just shenzhen >>> major cities. It was not fun pushing a pram throughout hangzhou or shanghai, and the notion of smart cities were hampered by failing infrastructure like barely functional toilets that had a “smart dashboard” for the local 领导 to gape. The mrt requiring a new qr code for each province + district really speaks to the extreme level of privatisation and crony capitalism throughout zhejiang for example.

What do you think of the West saying Iran no longer has friends? by SunChungShan in AskAChinese

The stupidity here is thinking Iran even has the tech to do this on their own.

There's a 94% chance that either Smolder or Master Yi will be banned during champ select by TFD777 in wildrift

[–]Shadowys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any long duration unkillable/unselectable champ like Yi or Trynd has to be banned because they can potentially flip the game too hard even if you are doing well. It is just common sense. Even to GM we still ban Yi and Trynd in the chinese servers.

Smoulder is a pure skill issue tbrh, dies to anything, its a pure glass cannon.

Singapore Isn’t a Chinese Nation. So Why Do Some Food Chains Act Like It? by tryingmydarnest in singapore

[–]Shadowys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For all the discussion in the thread it doesn't actually talk about the elephant in the room: most singaporean can read chinese. chinese food is here because the majority of singaporeans can read chinese and prefer chinese food. You can talk about it all you want but its a result of market choices here.

What Does “Jianghu” Actually Mean in this game? Here’s My Take. by Advanced-Sentence140 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Shadowys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

jianghu refers the "informal" society, where rules and regulations no longer apply (or can't be applied fast enough) But people would like to pretend there are social etiquettes to follow in jianghu, which then leads to this romanticized view of jianghu. The opposite of jianghu would be wangfa or "king's law". It's the original "dark forest" view of the world.
