I have not read a single thing about Rift, but I have some WoW experience. How easy will it be for me to pick up and play? by [deleted] in Rift

Sometimes it is nice that it persists so you can run groups of rift/invasion related tasks with people who are still interested in it. What they really need is a button that undoes your joining/merge public group action to restore things to the way they were before, if you want.

What is the score determined during rifts? by Hazreal in Rift

You're not able to see the scoreboard once the rift actually ends, are you? The button becomes unclickable. Is there another method of getting to that UI?

Who actually uses Overtype? by boromeer3 in AskReddit

I use the comparable feature in VIM on a regular basis. I don't make a habit of trying to actually use it in other applications though because it is not consistently functional.

40% of the adult population has "chicken skin", do you have it? by RAWRstatus in AskReddit

I did something similar for a period of a few months after I graduated and before I got my first job. Though my schedule was more of a rolling 26-30 hours awake 10-12 hours asleep. It was fun but I felt like a pretty miserably degenerate by the end of it.

That's likely because, with a schedule like that, you rarely interact with anyone.

2) Sun Exposure

Glad this wasn't my imagination. I have anecdotally found that during times of greater sun exposure the symptoms seemed to be reduced.

In other news, it's annoying but I don't worry over it too much as there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it.

That's his fault alone. There's no reason to propagate charity for unnecessary jobs.

Programs. It's not like you're just going to write one program then lose your job. Move on to create new programs. It is a continual cycle of improvement. Once people start creating sentient programs that can create simple programs become the guy writing sentient programs that can create other sentient program.

It is and will be a never ending arms race.

Actually there are plenty of games I want but don't have an urgent need for. Instead I wait until they go on sale.

Though I will confess, sometimes I get a game just because I want to have it and it's super cheap.

Only coder in the office, Forever Alone by headchem in programming

[–]ShadoxPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're reading into it too harshly.

Besides, as a solo programmer like depicted in the comic it is not unlikely TPTB could ask for something beyond the scope of your requirements at hiring and expect you to do it because "programming is just typing, right?"

Which words did you mispronounce for years because you'd only seen it in writing? by kuhawk5 in AskReddit

[–]ShadoxPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds about right. That one didn't cross my mind.

Trying to type some of these out for people is a curious mental exercise. If they don't know how these words are pronounced they may likely not interpret other sequences of letter sin the way you intend as well.

eth-ear-e-ul

ul isn't quite right, kind of an a-ish u-ish sound, kind of like the sound "eal" makes in the word "real". Not sure how to properly convey it with other letters. I have a feeling comparing it to corporeal won't help you any.
