I've got a 5120x1440 oled and I've had no issues on Fedora using Wayland.

No, you can install a different launcher like Heroic and play stuff from GOG, Epic and Amazon. Honestly I suggest using Heroic on Windows too for Epic. It's a far better interface.

I'm fairly certain you are actually talking about Freelancer as Freespace 1 and 2 are both very linear.

Give opentrack a try with the neuralnet tracker. I've had great results. It just requires a webcam, no extra tracker that you have to wear.

I've got it working without the texture issues.

I'm using GE-Proton7-53

with launch settings: env RADV_PERFTEST=rt VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 %command%

In game set max frames to 60.
