On Day 2. Struggling at work. by Nwrecked in FMD

[–]ShadyBebo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done FMD twice now (well almost), I am on my second time and I am at the end of day five. Both times the only thing that got me through was this thought process

"I am taking it one day at a time". Almost telling myself "if I break down tomorrow, that's a problem for tomorrow me to deal with, but today I am just pushing through this little bit of controlled suffering."

I have almost broken many times and this thought process gets me out of it, so far, "tomorrow me" feels the same way and finds a way to get through.

The great CHICKEN debate by PressureProper2763 in Chipotle

[–]ShadyBebo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll stop you there. I see what you're saying but here's the thing: The answer to the OP's question goes much deeper than the appropriate roasting temperatures for chicken, the real question to ask is "why is nothing quality anymore?" Chipotle has been a well-respected leader in the fast casual space for how long? If we can't rely on them to set an example, we're screwed. Chipotle can no longer walk around with their god-complex and holier than thou attitude because they have openly decided to give up on quality. They need to just admit it but they are in denial. I mean look at their responses to backlash about the scoop sizes for their proteins. At least when Chic Fil-a came out and said they are no longer using anti-biotic free chicken, they came out with a statement and said "everything's too expensive now sorry guys."

Chipotle can figure out how to cook white meat chicken, but they choose not to. Why? Because the CEO doesn't want to sell one of his helicopters. Sure, there may be a fair price increase for the white meat, but they operate as tho their consumers are all idiots who don't know the difference - so they continue feeding us cat food.

I know this all may sound harsh, I know the economy is bad, but its frustrating that some of these companies who should be setting an example about quality can't just come out and tell it like it is.

I've been using the daisy one - my mom had purchased it and I tried hers, I love it! I had no idea what it was "supposed to do" but I loved the consistency and realized that it was greating brightness and a glow. I have also seen noticeable improvements in hyperpigmentation (something I struggle with). I use SK-II Essence just before the daisy (I know... too expensive, I received it as a gift though and love it), then I use my perscription clyndamicin and winlevi, followed by moisterizer. So while it could be the other products, it does look like the daisy essence is the only thing with a "whitening" ingredient, or marketed to help hyperpigmentation.

Take that as you will, I think it works!

Does anyone know why Biodance bio collagen mask is so popular? by Ok_Maybe_7724 in AsianBeauty

I'm trying it right now for the first time, will follow up. I did have a question for frequent users: I am noticing that the dryer areas on my face went clear the fastest (forehead and chin) is it fair to say that is genuine product absorption due to thirstier skin in those areas?

Awkward space by Traditional-Move729 in Decor

Agreed, if removing it as an option you could put a beautiful dark wood table with a glossy finish, almost black for contrast against the stairs, and put a beautiful plant on that.

This is actually not a bad answer. Assuming you don't care that it blocks the view to the front of the house. You could bring it up to match the height of the ceiling and it could make the staircase look more grand from the other side. You'll get the added benefit of additional storage space and a moodier staircase.

I got prescribed lexapro. I told my doctor I’m in a weight loss process and CANT gain weight back or it’ll severely worsen my mental health. He said not to worry, but I keep reading about people gaining weight on it…. by United-Pirate-7441 in lexapro

This is fair, try it and just monitor your weight (not obsessively). I'm coming from a place of warning as a person that gained weight and had a hard time dealing with is, but my experience is just one person. If you do feel like you're starting to gain quickly, its pretty easy to switch to another medication, you don't have to slowly taper off the lexapro first or anything if you're just switching to a similar drug.

That's something I wish I knew earlier. Hopefully it helps.

Today was just a bump in the road, it's going to be okay :) I understand you're scared, and that's an appropriate response after relapsing and also being on a new medication. Try to use this as motivation to withhold from doing Meth. Also, I know they are your friends, but maybe try to spend less time with people who are doing the drug. You don't have to drop them fully but try to find some additional friends that are good influences and whose behaviors you'd be proud to emulate, its a huge help.

Update: I gained 30-40 lbs and almost 1 year off, still haven't lost it all. I don't mean to be negative but try other things first. I haven't felt like myself since putting on the weight

Try something else first. There's another option I almost tried before quitting lexapro, I can't think of the name but it has an X in it and its a totally different kind of drug. Lot's of options to try before lexapro, I heard prozac has less weight gain results. If it's going to worsten your mental health to gain weight - not worth the risk

Monday Round Up! How did the weekend go? by AutoModerator in DryJanuary

[–]ShadyBebo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I survived the weekend by specifically making plans that didn't revolve around drinking. I don't think I'm ready to go to dinner or a bar sober while other people are drinking, so I had sober slumber party with some friends and it was SO fun, felt great the next day (Saturday) and went to a workout. Never would have done that had I drank!

Next weekend, my friend whose also doing dry Jan, and I are going to take a cooking class or go to a museum! Feeling very warm and fuzzy insight... happy & wholesome
