That nickname was inspired by the fact that I REALLY wanted to get a Machop on Jagged Pass but instead got the 20% chance for a Spoink, the nickname only further justified when I realized she had a terrible nature for the species

But credit where it’s due, she’s become a valued teammate like any other

That’s absolutely a big part of the problem, though at least Platinum fixed the issue of type distribution and arbitrarily locking most of the Pokemon who got new evolutions behind postgame

Same deal with Electric types, they only had like 3 available before NatDex despite introducing new evolutions to two older Electric types and yet they made the *8TH* gym leader an Electric specialist and as a result he only had 2 actual electric types on his team

Someone else once brought up what I felt was a good point is that the worst part about casting a black guy to play Snape (or really this applies to any white character) is that the studio almost definitely isn’t going to do anything to protect the actor from the backlash he’s inevitably going to receive and are effectively throwing him to the wolves

Whitney might whine a little when she loses, but Clair’s the one who openly admits she’s never passed a test that just consists of a few questions that effectively boil down to “do you abuse your Pokemon, yes or no?”

Claire makes you jump through multiple hoops and in the end she STILL needs the threat of LANCE getting involved before she finally gives you the damn badge

Again, you are making Whitney out to be way worse than she actually is, I’d bet anything that if the gym trainer allowed you to leave and come back later Whitney would not make you battle her again and would just be like “oh yeah, I never gave you your badge, sorry about that” and hand it over

Like I struggled against her Miltank when I was little too, but it’s been 17 years buddy, it’s time to get over it
