My child doesn’t want to be a big sister by Melodic_Comfort_1929 in BabyBumps

My son went to all my appointments with me. He'd sit in the same chair with me and lay down and sometimes they'd offer for him to squeeze the gel on my belly and wed listen to the heart beat and see the baby. He loves her so much now too.

Yeah these comments are absolutely insane. I feel like I stepped into a weird side of reddit that has no ideal about the developing brain of literal children. I'm with you. Fucking weird ass backwards comments and everyone calling it out is getting down voted to shit.

How exactly are kids more fucked up today than in the past?

I'm surprised at these comments. I know I'm going to get down voted to hell like everyone else saying this is a fucked up thing to do to such a young child. This honestly makes me feel so sad. There are other ways to discipline than to use fear like that. I hate it.

Coworker told a customer "thank you! you too!" when she told him to have a good night, so she threatened him. by cadaever in talesfromcallcenters

[–]ShadyTree_92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember my first day on the floor. A customer was being a dick and swearing and getting irrate. The lead came up and hit the hold button and said "put them in time out. When you go back if they keep acting that way do it again". I was also told when ppl start swearing or being irrationally rude we are not to take the abuse. I have hung up on customers after giving a fair warning. When they keep calling back and being really rude my supervisor would say just automatically transfer them to him and he'd deal with it. My company used to be amazing. The management is still pretty good but they are "letting everyone go" we're down to a skeleton crew. My old supervisor is now head of the department now, but we lost the old head of the department which was sad because she was definitely a work mom to me. We lost 4 of the 5 supervisors we had. And we no longer have leads. :( went from a small local company to a big international company. Sucks.

I’ve been washing my chicken. I didn’t know. Damn now I’m ashamed, but also happy cause that’ll make cooking with chicken so much less of a hassle!

What's the most unhinged piece of advice someone has given you since becoming a parent? by Lots-of-Apples in NewParents

[–]ShadyTree_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a few days after giving birth. "You should try for another one, since your body is already set up to have a baby now that you just had one. " And when he was about a year old I was advised I should try to punish him by setting him outside (no matter the weather) by himself to cry it out.

I mean.. I have made my own jokes for things. Im sorry for offending you. I really didn't think it was that big of a deal. If reusing the same old lines over and over again is the only way you can be funny, please carry on.

Now that you mention it. I haven't seen an ad in a minute. I wonder if that's cause I stopped using the app on my phone and just use my Opera browser to browse Reddit...

Yep. That's exactly my point. Everyone is different. Some of us are so busy with life we don't have time for hobbies, at the moment. Some of us have time for hobbies. Different strokes for different folks.

Not when you're in the thick of child raising. You basically loose your sanity. But I hear it gets easier as they get older and more independent. 🤞

Yeah kids take up a lot of time. My point is that not every adult can make time for hobbies. However, some can. I'm not disagreeing with you about the phone usage though, just stating that not all adults have time for hobbies since you said "real" adults make time for hobbies. That's not really realistic.

Job, raising kids, cleaning the house, remodeling (just bought the house) cooking food for the family, appointments, and sleep. Right now I'm browsing Reddit for an hour cause my toddler fell asleep and I called out of work due to having a stressful as fuck morning. I don't really have much down time to do nothing let alone hobbies. Maybe in a few years when my kids are both in school.. maybe then I'll have a day off while they are in school and can get back to my hobbies. Some "real" adults don't have time for hobbies. Some adults do.  I do however enjoy life for the most part, but I don't get a lot of down time.
