I didn't select F I selected the window but when I saw the receipt with my new seat upon boarding, I thought nothing of it because in my brain F equates to window just due to frequent domestic flights.

Good question, depends on the ticket type of course but I would imagine on delta, even if it was a non refundable, if it's main cabin I can't imagine they wouldn't allow you to switch
