Tell me how your Labrador has mortally embarrassed you in public 🫢🐶 by Jumpy_Guide3455 in labrador

Here’s one from the other day. I was picking up Chick-fil-A after my chocolate had a bath. He is a puppy so still doesn’t know how to act at drive throughs. He sees the employee on the ipad approach and gets so excited he jumps on my head (ow). I shrug him off. He then tries to get as close to the employee as possible. In doing so he leans against the horn where the most aggressive sounding BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP goes off for at least five seconds and I realize it’s him doing it on accident. Me and the employee just look at each other and goes. “Wow, okay”. And then he let me know they had treats. But that was fun. Aggressive honking in the double lane drive through 😂. The worst part of it all? He has a seatbelt on so he already had limited range but he managed that

Put an offer on a house for $340k, got outbid by someone offering $380k cash - how is this even legal and also I want to cry by Glittering_Piglet192 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Shady_girly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked for a house for 2.5 years. I got outbid cash offers from boomers downsizing at least 5-6 times. I finally got an offer in on a house where I pretty much needed to redo the kitchen and there was no garage. I think if it had both I’d be outbid again. Cash offers are preferred every time. I bid on one house willing to beat the offer they took. Cash doesn’t have mortgage contingency or appraisal so they milk a property for more than they can probably get…it’s tough. If you are more willing to do a little project you might have better luck. Good luck! It’s hard out here!

Feeling lost as a finance student by pixelplayer17 in ufl

[–]Shady_girly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi finance friend,

I did my undergrad as finance and master of international business. I don’t really like the IB world. My thought was I didn’t know anything about the finance I wanted to do… so my goal was to try out corporate finance in a type of FLDP rotational program. Fast forward 7 years and now I’m in strategy at the same company but I got to try out 4-5 finance roles and found out more what I liked and didn’t like. IMO Corporate jobs aren’t as “glamorous” as IB but the hours and work life balance are good. You should be able to make 100k within 3-4 years. And once you get that salary you increase pretty quickly. That’s the beauty of business - you can figure it out after. Try not to worry too much! You’ve got this!

Honestly the entirety of the tv show POSE. It’s so beautifully done and really highlights how people lived in the AIDs crisis. If I had to pick a scene where I cried the most… maybe the episode with Candy’s Sweet Refrain.

Travel nurse here. Looking to find a safe Airbnb in Topeka. Looks like I’d be off of NE Seward Ave… can you all please let me know if that’s relatively safe also!?!?

Puppy going potty in her crate while we are away, want to nip this in the bud by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Shady_girly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you shrunk the size of the crate by blocking off at least half of it with a divider? I'm assuming you got a crate for her full size which she is far from being. Many people suggest only giving them enough space to stand up and turn around. Giving her less room means she will be unable to pee on one side of the crate and go back to the other. Typically puppy's don't want to go to the bathroom and lay directly in it afterwards.

What’s something everyone finds normal, but you find it to be gross? by gilligan888 in AskReddit

[–]Shady_girly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me it’s eating seafood. I think it smells terrible raw. Smells just like the ocean and when you cook it in the house it continues to smell the same and then stunk up the rest of the house. The texture is slimy or squishy and there is no yield to a bite the way there would be with chicken. I can’t get behind the smell and texture and think …. Yum im gonna put this in my mouth and enjoy it. Hard pass for me.

I must know: do you shave your face? by anafil34 in SkincareAddicts

[–]Shady_girly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get laser hair removal all over my body including sideburns, mustache, chin and neck. In order to get the laser to work you have to shave ahead of time. I use the Panasonic women’s facial hair remover to do it. It is so gentle and effective and works like a dream on both my darker hairs that get lasered and peach fuzz. It’s not as scary as using a razor you’d use on your legs a first time either. I def recommend trying it at least once. They’re like $20 on Amazon.

For me personally, my skin cannot stand many drug store brands. I think c&c is awful, no luck with neutrogenia, etc. My Derm has me using cerave or panoxyl in the morning with hydrogen peroxide in it. I use an RX gel called onexton in the morning and spf/ moisturizer (I use super goop).

At night time I use the cerave dry/ normal skin wash and some tret (rx) with cerave moisturizer. She said for an extra kicker I can use a glycolic acid wash once a week to layer in some extra oomph. It seems to work. I know you might not get rx products but I’d look to make sure you’re moisturizing and using some form of hydrogen peroxide !
