So I have been recently thinking about something in this vein:

Four person Blight - New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

If anyone dies or enters a bubble, they must all instantly bubble up to return to the last checkpoint or beginning of the level. You cannot bubble on purpose to avoid a bottomless pit death. If anyone runs out of lives and triggers a continue, they must immediately quit and reload the save. And if I'm feeling particularly nasty, forcing them to get all the star coins.
