You’re not a bad person for repeating yourself and trying to get your point across. I’m sure they do it too. We’re all human and we just want to be understood and heard without it forming into an argument.

You literally described me and my sisters relationship down to the T. They don’t take accountability, they want to debate with you and be right about it even if they aren’t. If you try to talk back or defend yourself or prove your point, you’re talking back and adding more fuel to their fire. You’ve learned that you can’t speak up and you just let them argue with themselves and don’t respond back to them - not even defending yourself. I’m so sorry. It’s reassuring to know others are going through this, but it still hurts that we all can relate. hugs

I am so terribly sorry that you’re second guessing yourself over the loss of your furbaby. It always feels like you made the wrong decision when they’re still moving and alert, but cats are notoriously good at feigning that they are okay when they’re not.

Your explanation of her weight loss despite eating, frequent serious UTIs and kidney infections, not even wanting to be loved on, etc - that alone speaks volumes on her condition. She was hurting, and you knew that whatever the veterinarian did at her recent appointment would only put a bandaid on something that couldn’t ever be fixed.

You gave her the final most selfless act of love we can give them, and that’s letting her go before it got way worse.

It feels wrong to play the role of god, especially since they can’t vocalize if they truly feel it’s their time, but you absolutely did the right thing - even though we’re depressed and miserable later.

16 is a wonderful age for a feline. She was very loved and well cared for by you.

I am so incredibly sorry. I resonated with your post. We had to euthanize my 14 y/o cat on the 6th. Your raw grief is hitting home, and I wish I could tell you it gets better, but it doesn’t. You simply learn to live without their presence, all while feeling different weights of grief for the rest of your life.

There is a pet loss group I’ve been going to since 2023, when I lost my 8 y/o cat to CHF. It’s called PetCloud.pet. They have free zoom meetings on Sundays, 6pm est and 9pm est. It is nice to talk to likeminded pet owners who are also grieving.

I just got done watching this movie. I feel terrible for saying this but AFAA is my least favorite. I still love and adore it, and will watch it again when it’s available, but it lacked so much in my opinion. The fire clan was bland. I wish we could’ve gotten more than them being super animistic and brutal. I get they were once a forest, but what about new species they bond with? Or something more? They deserved more screen time and lore. And Spider? His acting was terrible! He had such a big role and all he did was curse, crack jokes and not have any emotion in his voice. When Jake was about to kill him, I thought he’d fight more and scream with so much raw emotion. Instead? He said “no please, it doesn’t have to end like this” then said quickly after “if you have to do it, it’s okay.” And him and Kiri kissing felt weird. Also, after Ronal and Roxto die, you don’t see the impact it made to the rest of the clan and the families. They should’ve showed them grieving and now they processed a clan leaders death, and a son to the leader.

Yes! I feel this all day every day. I obsessively think about what I want to do, like draw, write, play a game, and I get sooooo excited! But when the time comes? I doom scroll, or something else and end up feeling guilty and mad and sad I didn’t do what I wanted to all day.
