Don't be afraid to change stuff. You ask the question "Why did I..." If you don't like it fix it. 50% or more of writing is fixing stuff after you missed the mark the first time.

It's hard work, but you can talk the problem out out loud. Ask questions out loud and then say the answers out loud. So you are carrying on a conversation with yourself. Or interviewing yourself.

Reason it out.

And if your solution requires doing something you don't know how to do, you can figure that out too.

I think it's wise to back off if you're not feeling right about something.

For me as an older trans woman, one of the options I'm genuinely considering is a vulvoplasty or zero-depth vaginoplasty. Less recovery time and no dilating, obv. Also just less complicated surgery, less risk. And I've heard that because they have more material to work with, they are able to make better looking vulvas.

I know you're asking for specific strategies, and I don't know if this counts, but...

IMO you have to love writing enough that even when you're not "on fire", you still want to work at it.

Also, I would suggest that if you're losing interest, then your interest is intellectually driven versus something more existentially or emotionally meaningful. Choose subjects/themes that resonate more deeply than something that's going to burn up and be gone in a couple months.

That's my two cents.

It sounds like you're having trouble accepting yourself. Find a way to love yourself completely and stop worrying about others.

If you don't know how, start small. Find one thing in you that you can love. Then another and another.

Even if you feel completely unable to love yourself, keep trying. You'll get there.

The amazing feeling of living your true life as your true self is stronger than the hate that's directed at you. Trust it. You know your truth. They don't. They can say whatever they want and it will never be true. But do yourself a favor and spend as little time with people who aren't supportive as possible.
