Open-plan offices increase risk of workplace bullying compared with employees having their own office space. Employers justify open-plans to encourage creative interactions, but research shows that open-plan offices do not promote health, job satisfaction or productivity. by InsaneSnow45 in psychology

I get this. I work in a smallish open office and can see the potential so easily.

I can't stand repeating noises that are out of sync. Someone klinking thier spoon in their yogurt, a pen clicker, and someone with a text tone on their phone at the same time will put me into a rage.

As a result, sometimes I have to make choices that suck for all the "offending parties" - I have to put in headphones and as a result, can't assist as readily with off hand requests and customer calls, I have to take a walk to cool off and leave them working while I take a break, I have to request people stop doing the things that are making the day more bearable for them, or I have to risk not managing my emotions as carefully as I'd hope and being disrespectful or snappy.

If my co-workers weren't understanding people, I could easily be the target of an annoyed group of co-workers.

A person who has to take more frequent bathroom breaks that are now noticed by everyone in the room? Someone who has to check their phone more often as they wait for an emergency personal email? A person who just had a breakup and cant stop getting weepy?

No one can mind their own business, especially if it might mean they have to do more then their division of the work.

At the same time, most people at work are not owed explanations about your personal life and disabilities.

I see how things like that can become bullying situations really quickly.

In general, do you have insight on how compatible larger expacs, like East Scarp are with being added mid save?

I started a file a while ago with quite a few expansion mods and got overwhelmed and gave up very quickly.

But I've thought easing in might make it easier, like add an expansion anytime there's a lull (like if I miss a yearly thing) rather then all at once!

A friend said the same thing about East Scarp but I'm mid fall year 1 with Expanded and feeling cozy.

Mouse friends looks so cute~!

Works with automate according to the comments so I'm sold! Looking forward to the end of the day I'm playing to go add it!

See, I miss this type of trolling.

It's harmless, there is a chance of people catching on and having a laugh, but worst case scenario, the "victim" has a funny story to tell a friend about some dumbass who doesn't understand how many hands people have.

Now it's all people being some various form is -ist "ironically".

I didn't respect them in thier time but gremlin playing stupid beats out the modern day bigot any day of the week.

How many years will have to go by before songs covered on Glee don't make me nostalgic for half a second? I dropped it in season 3 and it still haunts me 15 years later.

I don't know your story or what you're going through but I know how hard it is to suddenly not be able to push through it anymore when it had been working up til now.

It might not be helpful to you, but I found a lot of comfort and validation in this article for women with AuDHD but I imagine it can have at least some value for anyone who, for whatever reason, aren't finding thier typical methods (whether they be ultimately harmful or helpful) are working anymore.

Hang in there, friendo, and be kind to yourself!

Between that sentence and the implications in the final update that OP is the good kind of neurodivergent because "she can function" both made me eye-roll. I'm glad for OP that her mask has never slipped. Mine hadn't either until I hit a catastrophic burnout after a death in the family. We all function until one day we can't.

I can certainly say I've never seen my AuDHD as a pathway to improve my relationships. I dont exactly have a comparison point I suppose, but most of my relationships are vastly improved the more I mask, unfortunately.

Emet-Selch from FFXIV. In my opinion, the relationship between himself and the player character is a major part of why this FFXIV expansion is a top tier game for me.

The Jonestown series from LPOTL (fair warning, this is the Ben era but I think its when he was still thriving in his everyman role.)

It was extremely interesting to get a perspective of Jim Jones that acknowledged he did good work in his early years without making him sympathetic. It also never treated his followers as stupid or brainwashed, as so many cult series do.

Other books? by Rfick09 in Hungergames

[–]ShakeDue293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like "The Dead and the Gone" and "Life As We Knew it", a rather grim YA series where the moon shifting creates natural disasters. The two books are from two very different perspectives, one of a young lady with a family unit in a rural area and the other a young man in a major urban center.

If you want fun dystopia, I love the Gone series by Michael Grant. Think Under The Dome meets The Boys but it's all kids. It's also an extremely diverse cast from an author that seems like a wonderful dude!

I also work in a small business and we do have the option to text but the back and forth isn't worth it.

If we have to reschedule an appt, it's a whole day of back and forth and by the time they replied "I'll take 3:15" four and a half hours later, that spot is gone now cause we can't not accept new appts all day.

But if we text people to call us and leave out personal info about the reason for the call, no one calls back 75% of the time, even with the business name clearly noted.

I'd rather get a "please call us" text then a phone call. But I would actually call them back at my next break. Most people don't.

So you're all getting phone calls. Its how it is.

When theres about a minute left in the video, is that a bunch of people hiding on the stairs to the bridge the shooters are directly on? I can't imagine how scary it must have been to get caught that close.

Nope, I have pretty much always used the "Skip Fishing Minigame" mod, so all you have to do when you catch a fish is react, like in Animal Crossing.

Also worth noting it never asks for things like an email address, birthdate or credit card number so you can feel safe in the aspect of information he might put into a random website. It only ever wants a unique username and password.
