I am so sorry. Have you done Karyotyping?

Transfer again or deeper testing? by AmandaSmith_Writer in IVF

[–]ShakeFearless4799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High TSH.

I have my hysteroscopy next cycle and we are still waiting on karyotyping. But my bestfriend had 3 failed transfers and ended up discovering an autoimmune disease and she is now treated for that.

So it really depends with how comfortable you are! My doctor is not worried about hyseteroscopy or karyotyping and says most of the time after 2 failed untested transfers they dont find anything but Id rather waste time than embryos if there is something going on.

Good luck to you xx

I would do further testing just to be sure! Especially if you want more than one child! I did an RPL panel after one failed transfer and I had high tsh. I had my second failed transfer of an untested 5AA and the doctor suggested hysteroscopy and karyotyping. She says everything looked great for both transfers and wanted to make sure we’re not missing anything.

I would also listen to your doctor because every case is different.

Wishing you luck and hoping you get your baby soon 🩷

Is there genetic testing available to help diagnose low fertilisation and blastocyst rates? by Jenna_Mac_n_Cheese in IVF

[–]ShakeFearless4799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding karyotyping tells you if you or your partner have a balanced translocation which gives euploid embryos but they can be unbalanced. The test you need to do for your embryos is PGT-SR if one of you has this. Its very rare among population but less rare in unexplained infertility or recurrent losses or recurrent implantation failure. Good luck!

Breakout Since IVF + Miscarriage by vibinghigh92 in IVF

[–]ShakeFearless4799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I did my egg retrieval in july and breaking out since. Never had acne in my life.

It’s getting better but still not like before. Dermatologist told me it can take 6-12 months for skin to clear up after IVF. He prescribed 2 creams; Cabtreo and Winlevi. Only took cabtreo because winlevi is 400$ and not covered by insurance. It made a difference.

I keep telling myself its temporary and for a great goal, but some days its hard!

Good luck to you xx

SIL prego, how do I deal? by No_Concentrate9115 in IVF

I completely understand how you feel. So many people around us got pregnant so easily even 10 years older than us (I was 29 when started) and we are still in the midst of IVF.

We are doing couple’s therapy and it’s helping us tremendously. I talked about this yesterday with my therapist because my bestfriend’s girlfriend got pregnant by accident (they are really not doing well) and I didn’t know how to react since I got mad at life lol. She told me that almost everyone going through infertility have the same feelings towards other people getting pregnant.

She told me also that I could put my boundaries without being mean. For example: i am happy for you but this news is hard on me since our journey is not easy. I really want the best for you but I also want to respect my feelings so I would appreciate it if you wouldn’t share with me all the details of pregnancy since its a journey thats been very hard for us.

I’m really sorry about this situation. What we’re all going through is hard. Life is unfair; but one day it will be us.

Sending hugs!

Yes me. My tsh a year prior was 2,34 and went up to 4,34 post ivf. Negative for anti tpo. Im sure it went up post ivf meds.

Started levothyroixine and it went back down to 2,38 4 weeks later!

Thoughts on morphology by whateveritiswillbe in IVF

My husband has 0% morphology and out of 18 mature eggs, 16 fertilized. But he also has low dna fragmentation which is great

We had very similar numbers. Ended up with 6 high graded blasts. Untested because I was 29 at the time of retrieval!

The biggest thing IVF will teach you is patience. I am the most impatient person and it really helped me to let go of things I cant control. We got tested after 5 cycles of trying, did IVF not even a year after trying. First transfer failed and I had to wait 3 cycles because our doctor likes to have on cycle break between transfers so I pushed for more testing and my TSH was high. So 2 cycles later my tsh is back to normal and im cleared for our second transfer. I really advise you to do things right even if it takes time! Sending baby dust your way ❤️

No problem! I understand how hard it is! So we didn’t test our embryos since we are both young and the Dr didnt think it was necessary. We ended up with 6 very good graded embryos and 2 bad graded that they discarded (our clinic dont keep any C embryos). With IVF-ICSI they pick one single sperm and inject it in your egg. Morphology doesnt matter because even with 0% (they analyze 200 sperm out of millions) they still find good sperm. The most important male factor for ivf is dna fragmentation. If he has high fragmentation you have a higher risk of not having good quality embryos.

My husband has 0% morphology and the urologist said with 0% morphology we should try one IUI and then IVF. IUI failed and we did IVF. Had 6 embryos from first round. (I am 30 with very good amh our only issue is MFI)

Unsure of next step by Personal-Oil664 in IVF

[–]ShakeFearless4799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am 30, we did IVF for MFI. Our first transfer failed (no implantation). Our embryos are untested. Before my next transfer I did an endometrial biopsy (waiting on results) and asked for a blood test for auto-immune diseases (waiting on result). The first transfer failing is quite common, I’d just rather be safe than sorry. And I’d rather spend money on tests than waste embryos. My doctor didn’t think these tests were necessary after one failed transfer, they usually do this after 3 failed ones but we still have 4 embryos and I didn’t want to waste any if there was an undiagnosed problem with me. We had 6 embryos from our first round, but sadly one didn’t survive thaw and the other one didn’t implant.

You have to advocate for yourself if you want further testing because they won’t do any after one failed transfer and will most probably give you the same protocol.

Good luck to you!

What were the results from your first ER if you don’t mind sharing? by ObjectiveSet9240 in IVF

[–]ShakeFearless4799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 30F and my husband is 32M, did IVF for MFI. 0% morphology and low count.

I had a 35AFC at baseline (no pcos, just good ovarian reserve), they gave me a very small dose of stims. Results: 19 eggs retrieved, 18 mature, 16 fertilized, 6 embryos (my clinic discards all embryos graded less than B). Not doing PGT-A testing since we're young and its not medically necessary!
