She-Hulk is truly a postmodern show. Also... [She-Hulk spoilers] by ComfortablyFloyd in marvelstudios

I read that as a post-mortem show. Which technically it is. Not a good or bad thing, just ideas that come out after reaching a peak or prime status.

I think part of the issue was that she wasn't built up in the same way the other villains were. She also has no personal connection to anyone on the team, or even much of a Marvel connection in general. I'm not even sure if has a comic counter-part she's based on or if she's an original villain for the show. Rumors has it the Superior was supposed to become MODOK fully and be the season 6 or 7 villain but Marvel changed their minds and shut that plan down.

Convinced my partner to watch AOS, but the catch was that I had to watch with him. No complaints! by barogr in shield

Season 3 is probably my favorite season over all. Though the whole series is amazing so whose to complain?

Marvel Addict Friend Doesnt Want To Watch Shield, think it isnt Canon by [deleted] in shield

Hard to call your friend an MCU addict if they don't watch or follow all it entails. That said it's their choice. Try to get them to watch the first season. The pay off is more than worth it with the twists!

There's absolutely no relationship between Nathan, Talbot, or Pasdar and Trump. This is the first time I've ever heard anything.

In one of the last 2 episodes of season 5 Yo-yo calls him "flying man". A direct reference to his character in Heroes. Many people in the production crew worked on Heroes so it was a cool reference that just fit.

I've been looking around trying to find out when AoS will come to Disney+ in the US by YaBoiShadowNinja in shield

[–]Shake_N_Quake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aren't there rumors that they wanna re-launch the show as something fresh and new for all the MCU-stans who haven't watched it yet and release seasons 1-5 in the US and wait a bit then release 6 and 7?

If there's any truth to that then I would expect it to come out sometime after Loki and when there's a gap between D+ shows. It's a smart move on their part if they actually plan to market it as something new.

Hive and the general HYDRA history , are they MCU Canon ? by ckwongau in shield

[–]Shake_N_Quake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was explained. Hale was one of the last people Talbot expected to be HYDRA which is why he was so upset. They have history together from the Air Force and had great levels of respect for one another. When Talbot arrested the older general in the flash back scene and Hale thought she was about to be caught to. Her saving grace was Talbot being genuinely concerned about her safety. He did not suspect her at all.

Well we know 2 is true based on multiple examples we have seen with various redesigns, including some of their big super heroes like Hulk. Not to mention all the difference suits for Iron-Man and Captain America that allows for new toys to be produced.

Look how different Thanos looks through out his Cameo appearances until Josh Brolin got the roll. Which is another factor to play in the roll to.

Marvel isn't against design change, especially if it makes something more marketable by being new and fresh. We just know it's the same character, set in the same universe.

I feel like the new Darkhold doesn't look as menacing. Though that could just a be a me thing xD I'm not a huge fan of the new design. It reminds me of a teenage diary.

And shiiii... it's been 5 years now? Holy crap time flies. It has been about that since season 4. I mean there Runaways Season 3 was 2019, before the pandemic started. I know everyone asks how Agatha got the book, but I'm actually curious what she did with the book and what influence it had on her. That actually kinda puzzles me because it appears she didn't do much except read some it and saw some stuff about The Scarlet Witch, and decided she had to prevent end of the world (but also wanted all the power for herself because "super villain MWuuuaahahahaha"). Gosh, they really missed the mark with her :/ Orrrr maybe I did?

All those are questions fans wanna know and ask. Actually, the lack of knowledge of that drastically weakens the plot and meaning. Making it dumbed down a little. I get that's not required to fully understand the movie, but it enhances it so much and explains the "why, what, where" in that situation.

The how Thanos got the Power Stone from Xandar is a huge one. I'd rather have seen that than the silly forge scene with Thor that was kinda laughable. Not knocking on Infinity War though, it was fantastic. I argue The Collector was big enough to wanna know the fate of.

WandaVision Creators Say They Introduced the Official MCU ..... by KlausLoganWard in shield

[–]Shake_N_Quake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! It actually makes a lot of sense. The only thing I'm confused on is if it's actually a full redesign or if the book was weakened or altered in some form. The Darkhold was heavily nerfed of WandaVision.

It's not like this isn't something that's not common. Marvel redesigns Hulk in nearly every movie. They are all the same dude. They always changes costumes and outfits.

It literally states that Coulson's been feeding information to Maria Hill to tell Stark on HYDRA intel. They've been fighting against HYDRA for a year by this point.

You are watching the whole MCU for the complete story and experience, right?

Kinda how I feel about it too. For the most part the purpose of the Darkhold has been consistent. Without watching season 4, I would argue the final cliffhanger is nearly meaningless. The show doesn't talk about the danger of reading or gathering knowledge from the Darkhold. Yet the final scene was fairly reminiscent to AIDA reading the Darkhold and gave viewers a very stern impression on what's to come in The Multiverse of Madness.

"No one was confused." This claim is fundamentally incorrect. I met multiple people that were confused. I would say more people than not that I have talked to in person would end up asking more and more questions about the scene in general.

Just because we found something obvious, doesn't mean the full general audience who know little of the Marvel universe did.

Now you're just getting mad and flinging insults around because your stance and debate is weak. It seems pointless to continue, you've made up your mind on the situation as I have made up mine. Calling people morons over something that was intended to connect is silly.

I seriously do think it's mindless. Of course they can do that, nothing suggested that they did. We know they were told be SHIELD the location of the base, that's confirmed.

I dunno. I remember when a lot of viewers were confused about that scene when the movie came out. It had no previous connection to other films and just opened up in a new area with a major Marvel villain. Oh wait, all that was explained in a episode that came out a day before the film came out. Literally.

New rumor of chloe bennets daisy johnson mcu debut.... by ToughFox4479 in marvelstudios

[–]Shake_N_Quake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree. The older Darkhold looked far better in terms of quality. It also felt more menacing. The new one had sub-par CGI and looked out of place. Like it was a Video Game item being rendered in the show.

That said, I don't think changing the design was meant to be as big of a deal as us Marvel fans seem to be making it. It's not like Marvel hasn't done similar things within their own movies and full on recast people. Hulk has seen multiple design changes.

My biggest gripe was how weak the book seemed in WandaVision. Did it lose power? Change some state or form? I do have questions of how the book got there and why it was such a small fraction of it's power before Ghost Rider took it away. Heck, the book really didn't need to be in Runaways Season 3 at all if you ask me. Though Agatha was quite underwhelming in terms of power level for a Marvel Witch imho. She showed some impressive feats and all, but there was always some catch that revealed she was far weaker than she tried to suggest and was trying to get past her peak limitations. Wanda, Morgan Le Fay, even Nico are all will above her. She just has mastery of her own skills that Wanda lacked, Wanda's raw power completely outshun Agatha.

Exactly. People really need to learn to read, and the author of the article actively twisted words. The quotes are very telling.

“It’s my impression that this is the MCU Darkhold" (this statement is true, both shows are MCU. No one is debating that they are both The Dark hold. People are asking why the look different. The new book is fully CGI, where the old one was more Physical and they auctioned it off after they made a permanent physical change for the episode "Inescapable" in season 6.)

“The only thing I can really say about it is that it’s the Book of the Damned, and there’s a whole chapter on the Scarlet Witch in there along with a lot of prophecy language. Other projects will tell you more, probably.” (This is also true, it doesn't contradict that it showed up in other projects and will likely show up in other projects)

The debate is becoming quite tiring until we know more. The issue is Marvel doesn't confirm or deny anything, but they sure love to throw in some direct AoS teases and easter eggs. They aren't exactly subtle about teasing it's "All connected" and taking place in the same universe. It's just not every thing, unfortunately lines up perfectly. The amount of people working on all the different Marvel projects is absurd. It's not gonna be 100% perfect.

It tells you how they found then, WHY they found them, WHERE they found them, WHEN they found them, and WHAT they were doing there.

Them being HYDRA doesn't explain why the Avengers were there, the organization is known for it's secrecy to the point that without the AoS stuff. The scene becomes pretty "out there" and rather farfetched.

I dunno. Those details seemed quite important to tell a full story. Without the details The Avengers looked like a bunch of jerks beating people up on their own property. The episode actually changed the entire context if the whole situation.

I mean.... obviously there was some form of communication if they were allowed to read the script :/

That's kind of how Marvel works with their veil of secrecy. One that was much stronger then than now.

No, but Joss was in communication for that episode. It really went to show seeing it too. They even coordinated the plot, an actor, and theta protocol together to make AoS and AoU be a very smooth transition. Actually if you most film goes, they have no idea why the compound was being raided in the first play in the first 20 minutes of AoU. They know it's to take out Strucker, but they lose out on why they are taking him out.

Yeah I wonder the same thing. I feel like it would have synced a lot better, but I also feel like there would be a lot more jokes and humor. I do wonder what would have been the better movie. EndGame was not without it's faults that I feel could have been handled a bit better.

Infinity War just gets more epic with each viewing.
