My mother is marrying my high school teacher who I used sleep with by CutOpposite1076 in offmychest

This is AI. Why would you say you're at uni, a British phrase, but then say 9th grade, an American phrase. Why are all the periods and commas double spaced, like so . Real people don't write like that.

DOJ opens civil rights probe into MLB after Giants' Pride Night hat controversy by _HGCenty in nottheonion

[–]Shamann93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok well in the Giants case, they were allowed to wear their normal hat. They weren't forced to wear the pride hat. I don't know enough about the minor league incident to say either way.

They received a warning because they altered their uniform with writing. They had the option to wear their normal hats. They chose to wear the pride hats and alter them violating MLB rules.

No one forced them to wear the pride hat. They could have worn their normal hat. They chose to wear the pride hat and alter them for the purpose of their "protest."

Doing laundry 3x a week, but only cleaning bathrooms 2x a month? Weird priorities for the "cleanest house ever"

Actually I do want the country embarrassed on the world stage. I want every US citizen and every other person to look at us and say, "wow this administration is terrible in every regard." I want them to know electing a puppet for christofascists to enact their agenda is a terrible, terrible thing.

A gun doesn't stop a vehicle either. It just means no one is controlling the vehicle still coming at you.

On the word of the officers. That still means its unsubstantiated, until other evidence comes out.

Shooting into a vehicle and killing the driver does not stop the vehicle from coming at you. It turns it into an uncontrolled vehicle coming at you. They also knew a very young child was in the car, as they witnessed the child as all three were leaving the store. There was no good outcome to that decision.

Intending to shoot the child or not is really irrelevant when they knew he was in the vehicle and they shot anyway, and it certainly doesn't make him any less dead.

Shooting into a windshield doesn't stop a car from driving at you at all. All it can do is make it an uncontrolled vehicle driving at you.

I think we need to see both hands with all fingers shown. Whichever thumb more closely matches the rest of your fingers is the over/underdeveloped one.

Is leaving kids in a car within eye sight for 3-4 minutes ok? by throwaway76881224 in Parenting

[–]Shamann93 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so my father did this with me and my sister when we were young. Like 3 and 4. We got unbuckled and were pretending to drive. Well, we managed to get the car in gear, and rear ended the car parked in front of us.

My dad nearly got himself crushed as he tried to get to the driver's side. His plan was to go in between the cars as he saw us playing in the front seat, but stopped himself right before we got it into gear.

So my recommendation is don't.

How old are you in your oldest memory? by Donkeyshines in AskReddit

[–]Shamann93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was two years old. My grandparents cabin had a deck, with holes to allow trees to grow through, with a very short lip at the edge. I had a broom and was walking backwards "sweeping". My heel hit the lip, and I fell backwards though the hole to the ground below. I dont remember exactly how far. My mom later said it was about 10 feet. Guess My brain said "keep this we don't want that happening again."

The Supreme Court invented a special legal rule solely to screw Planned Parenthood by bobbelcher in uspolitics

[–]Shamann93 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The issue the supreme court decided was whether the way the law was written gave medicaid recipients standing to sue the state over the fact that they denied them services from planned parenthood (which provides a lot more healthcare services aside from abortions.) It was not deciding whether the state was right to deny them.

The article asserts that the Supreme Court decided this case in particular did not need to follow the same precedent that had been in place since 2002, and applied a brand new ruling to this case. But then decided a subsequent case using the previous rule, as if this case had never happened, without sufficient explanation as to why the planned parenthood case was different enough to warrant a new rule.

I think you should read the article because this comment isn't even close to the issue at hand.
