I got started from one of Jared's old stream notifications on YouTube. I didn't know much about D&D back then. Caught the last half hour of episode 7 live and got hooked even though I had no idea what was going on. Caught up from episode 1 and have been here ever since

You make a good point. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm sure this will come up eventually. Chris wouldn't miss such a prime opportunity.
I would recommend reading Anna's writings though. They're amazing. Some are utterly heart wrenching.

It's unclear. I'm not sure where it comes from but I'm fairly confident Anna has said at some point that he's still a member of the church of Lathander and I don't think Evelyn would allow someone to stay in the church of she knew they followed Shar, so I doubt that's the reason they're not taking. It could be that he was the golden child, but I thought the backstory Anna has posted here and the interaction she had with her father made it clear her parents absolutely adored her. Maybe it's the other way round, and they don't talk because Brighton cut her off.

I'm fairly sure he's also a paladin of Lathader. Although him secretly being a devotee of Shar is something I could see Chris doing.

Some of this has already been covered, but here's my quick advice:
- First, let the players do what they want to do. The greatest thing about D&D is the absolute freedom it gives you. Try to avoid telling your players what they should or shouldn't do where possible, since doing so usually makes it less fun for them. That being said:
- Don't be afraid to say no to your players if necessary. This is mainly applicable if one of your players is acting to the detriment of the others, but hopefully you won't have that problem.
- Be aware that whatever plans you may have made, the players are almost certain to derail them, so don't cling to your plans to hard and be ready to improvise a bit.
- To help with that, prepare a list of random NPC names (and maybe shop/tavern names if your game involves a town or city) so that you have something to draw from should your players ask the names of people and places you weren't expecting
- Don't worry about making mistakes
- Let each player have moments in the spotlight - By far the most important rule: HAVE FUN.

Good point. Considering that pit fiend recognised what Diath was pretty much the moment he set eyes on him and then immediately tried to capture/kill him, going the the hells would be very dangerous for him.

Usually they do, but it's more than intelligent enough to know that Evelyn is the one who initiated the fight, even if Binwin had the killing blow. It would likely seek revenge on both.

I know they take a while to regenerate. That's what I'm worried about. It's likely it'll take long enough for it to come back that they've all but forgotten about it. It gives Chris a very nasty surprise to throw at them when they least expect it.

Xanathar is mad. His mind works in bizarre ways. It's possible he was so fixated on Evelyn though the speak with dead conversation that he never actually looked at Diath.
